Fact Sheet Templates for Business, School and Community Use
Part of: Business & Office
A fact sheet is one page that answers the questions readers always ask. It might describe a product, a scholarship, a wedding venue or an animal for a school project. The goal is the same each time: say what matters and make it easy to find.
These editable templates give you a head start with sensible layouts. Replace the sample content with your own, adjust the colors, then download the sheet as a PDF, PNG or JPG for print or screen.
Fact Sheets for Many Purposes
Here is a small selection of what you can build from the templates on this page.
- Business: startup investor one-pagers with traction charts, mutual fund sheets with monthly performance, used car window sheets with price and history.
- Events and venues: wedding venue sheets with capacity tables and packages.
- Education: animal and biography sheets for student projects, scholarship program overviews with eligibility and timeline.
- Safety and awareness: ladder safety and cybersecurity tips with clear callouts.
- Publishing: a book information sheet with cover, details and synopsis.
Write It in Five Steps
- Decide who will read it and what they need to know.
- Write a headline that names the subject plainly.
- List the key facts in short lines, with numbers wherever you have them.
- Add one visual: a photo, a chart or a timeline.
- Finish with a contact line or a next step.
Fact Sheet or One-Pager?
The two are close relatives. A fact sheet focuses on neutral information, while a one-pager often argues for something, such as why a customer should buy. If you want a persuasive sheet, take a look at our marketing one-pagers.
Keeping It Readable
| Do | Avoid |
|---|---|
| Use short lines and clear headings | Long paragraphs of text |
| Show numbers in a table or callout | Burying figures in sentences |
| Use two fonts at most | Mixing many decorative styles |
| Leave margins and space | Filling every corner |
Fact Sheet Examples and What They Include
| Type | Key elements | Audience |
|---|---|---|
| Product fact sheet | Features, specifications, pricing, contact | Buyers and distributors |
| Fund fact sheet | Performance, holdings, fees, risk level | Investors |
| Scholarship overview | Eligibility, award, deadlines, how to apply | Students and parents |
| Venue sheet | Capacity, packages, location, photos | Event planners |
| Safety sheet | Rules, ratings, inspection steps | Staff and visitors |
| Biography or animal sheet | Key dates, facts, timeline, picture | Students |
Writing Facts That Readers Trust
Facts are only useful if they are correct and current. Check every number against a reliable source and add a date to the page, such as "Information correct as of March". Use plain wording instead of marketing language. Where you quote a statistic, mention where it came from. If something may change, say so and tell readers where to find updates.
Choosing Visuals
- Use a single hero image or illustration, not several competing ones.
- Show trends with a small chart rather than a paragraph of numbers.
- Use icons sparingly to mark categories, such as time, place and cost.
- Keep the colors of charts consistent with your brand.
Fact Sheets for School Projects
Students can use fact sheets to organize research on animals, historical figures, planets or countries. Start with a clear title and an image, then add four to six facts grouped under short headings. A timeline works well for biographies, and a simple table suits animals with details such as habitat, diet and lifespan. Always add a line for sources, as it teaches good habits early.
Print and Share
For handouts, print on regular paper in black and white if color is not essential. For events and trade shows, print in color on a slightly thicker paper. For online sharing, download a PDF so the layout stays intact. If you need a persuasive sales version, our marketing one-pagers take a more promotional tone.
Updating a Fact Sheet Over Time
Facts age, so plan for maintenance. Keep the editable version in a shared folder, note the review date in your calendar and change only the numbers that moved. When you reprint, replace every old copy at counters, events and in email signatures, so people always see the latest figures.
Fact Sheet Questions
Can I edit the tables?
Yes. Tables in the templates can be edited, so you can change rows, columns and values.
Is a fact sheet good for email?
Yes. Download a PDF and attach it, or export a JPG for the body of the message.
More office documents are on the business and office templates page.
Can I add my own charts?
You can upload an image of a chart from a spreadsheet and place it in the layout, or edit the built-in tables to show your numbers.
How long should a fact sheet be?
One page is the usual target. If you need more, split content into clear sections and keep each page easy to scan.
What is the difference between a fact sheet and a brochure?
A fact sheet is short and factual, while a brochure is longer and more persuasive with more design.
How do I keep facts up to date?
Keep the editable file, add a review date and update numbers when they change.
Can students use fact sheets for school projects?
Yes. Animal and biography layouts are made for projects, with space for a picture, key facts and a timeline.
Should I include sources on a fact sheet?
Where you quote statistics or research, add a small line naming the source. It builds trust and helps readers check the facts.
