Hotel Manager Resume Template with Grand Arch Sidebar
Owners and hotel groups look for general managers who can run a profitable property while making every guest feel welcome. Your resume should feel like walking into a well-run hotel: elegant, calm, and clearly organized. This template opens with a tall burgundy arch, like a grand entrance doorway, and fills it with the numbers hotel owners care about most.
The Arched Entrance
A deep burgundy panel runs down the left side of the page, its top shaped like a rounded archway. A fine gold line traces the arch just inside its edge, and a small gold key sits at the top, a nod to the front desk. Inside the arch, your first name and surname are stacked in white Domine, with Hotel General Manager in spaced gold capitals beneath. Below them sit your contact details, guest scores, and languages.
Guest Scores in Gold
Three large gold figures show your guest review score, your property's ranking in the city, and average occupancy. These are the figures owners check first on any review site or STR report. Replace them with your own and keep them current; a recent improvement, such as moving from 8.6 to 9.4, is worth mentioning in your experience bullets too.
The Main Column
The white side of the page holds your profile, experience, key achievements, areas of expertise, education and certifications. Job titles are set in Domine and hotel names in italics with the room count, so a reader understands the size of each property. Section headings are spaced capitals over a fine rule, and expertise appears as six soft blush chips.
Hotel Metrics Worth Including
| Metric | What it shows | Example |
| RevPAR growth | Revenue management skill | +24% in three years |
| Guest review score | Service quality | 8.6 to 9.4 |
| Occupancy | Demand and sales | 82% average |
| Staff turnover | Leadership and culture | Down 30% |
| F&B or events revenue | Commercial thinking | Weddings up from 40 to 110 |
From Department Head to General Manager
If you are a front office, rooms division, or F&B manager aiming for your first GM role, show cross-department wins. Did you cover for the GM, lead a renovation, introduce a new revenue stream, or improve a guest score across the whole property? Put those in the key achievements section. A Certified Hotel Administrator or revenue management qualification helps show you are ready for full P&L responsibility.
Hospitality Language That Works
Hotel resumes can drift into vague phrases such as passion for hospitality. Replace them with specifics: number of rooms, staff led, brands operated, systems used, and results delivered. Leading 110 staff across rooms, food and beverage, events, and maintenance says more about your scope than any adjective, and it helps owners compare you quickly with other candidates.
Owners, Brands and Management Companies
Tailor the page to who is hiring. Independent owners care about profit and personal touch, so lead with revenue and guest scores. Brand-managed hotels look for brand standards, audits, and loyalty program results. Management companies want leaders who can take over an underperforming property and turn it around quickly.
Refurbishing the Arch in Word
- The arch, gold line, key, and top edge are shapes in the page header. Double-click near the top of the page to select them and change Shape Fill, for example, to navy or forest green for a different brand.
- Everything inside the arch is normal text in a table cell, so you can type over it.
- Expertise chips are a three-column table; type over a chip or add a row.
Typefaces and Paper
Domine and Lato are free from Google Fonts. The resume fits on one US Letter page. Send a PDF to recruiters and print on cream or bright white stock for in-person interviews with owners.
