A security officer’s badge stands for trust, vigilance, and professionalism, the same qualities a security company looks for when it hires. This Security Officer Hiring Poster puts a large police-style shield at the centre of a deep navy page. The shield has a thick gold edge, a gold star at its peak, and, inside, NOW HIRING SECURITY OFFICERS in bold stencil-style capitals and the pay range, $21 – $25 an hour. Below the shield, a table lists the open posts with their shifts, schedules, and rates. It suits contract security firms, in-house security departments, hospitals, universities, event security companies and property management groups.

Built Around One Strong Symbol

The shield does most of the work. It is recognisable from across a room; it frames the headline and the pay in a single glance, and it signals authority without looking aggressive. Everything else on the page supports it:

  • Gold rules run across the top edge, and the company name, SENTINEL PROTECTIVE SERVICES, sits beneath them in spaced gold capitals.
  • The shield is drawn in two layers, a gold outer shape with a soft shadow and a steel-blue inner shape, with a gold star above the text.
  • Inside the shield: NOW HIRING in spaced gold letters, SECURITY OFFICERS in Black Ops One, $21 – $25/HR in gold Oswald, and Armed & unarmed · All shifts.
  • OPEN POSTS: a real table object with columns for post, shift, schedule, and pay.
  • Perks line: guard card sponsorship, paid training, uniforms provided, and weekly pay.
  • Footer: a steel-blue band with APPLY TODAY, the careers website and phone number, a small gold shield icon and our logo.

The poster is US Letter, 8.5 x 11 inches, portrait.

Describing Each Post So Candidates Can Choose

Security work varies enormously from one site to the next, and candidates want to know what a post involves before they apply. The table on the poster gives the headline facts; in interviews and on your careers page, a one-line description per post helps. Examples you can adapt:

  • Corporate campus, days: Lobby and access control, visitor badges, patrols of parking areas; a customer-service-heavy post in business attire.
  • Hospital, nights: Emergency department presence, patient and visitor safety, de-escalation training provided; four nights on, three off.
  • Event venue, weekends: Crowd management, bag checks and entry control at concerts and games; ideal for part-time officers and students.

Mobile patrol, overnight: Marked-vehicle patrols of several client sites, alarm response and lock-ups; a valid driver’s licence and clean record required.

Updating the Table of Open Posts

  1. Edit the rows: double-click the table (or choose Edit Table Data) and type your own posts, shifts, schedules and rates.
  2. Add a post: use + Row. Six rows still fit comfortably above the perks line.
  3. Add a column: for example LICENCE (armed or unarmed) or LOCATION, then narrow the other columns to make room.
  4. Import from a spreadsheet: if your scheduling team keeps open posts in a spreadsheet, export it as CSV and use Import CSV.

Personalising the Shield and Footer

  • Company name: double-click the gold line at the top to replace SENTINEL PROTECTIVE SERVICES.
  • Headline: change SECURITY OFFICERS to PATROL OFFICERS, CONCIERGE SECURITY or LOSS PREVENTION. Longer titles may need a slightly smaller font to stay inside the shield.
  • Pay range: update the gold figure. If armed posts pay more, show the full range here and the detail in the table.
  • Colours: recolour the gold to silver for a different look, or change the navy to your company colour; the shield layers are separate shapes.
  • Footer: add your website, phone number and licence number if your state requires it on advertising.

Recruiting Officers Who Stay

Turnover is one of the highest costs in the security industry, and the details on a hiring poster can reduce it. Be clear about the shifts: night and weekend posts are easier to fill when candidates know exactly what they are signing up for. Mention training and licensing support, since many good candidates, including veterans and people changing careers, do not yet hold a state guard card. Weekly pay, uniforms, and paid training time are strong incentives for hourly workers. If officers can move between posts or into supervisor roles, say so on your careers page.

Qualities to Highlight in a Security Job Ad

Most security companies are not looking for toughness; they are looking for calm, observant people who communicate well and follow procedures. Saying so on your careers page and in interviews widens your applicant pool to former customer-service workers, retirees, and students who would make excellent officers but assume the job requires a law-enforcement background. Good qualities to name include reliability and punctuality, clear report writing, de-escalation skills, comfort with technology such as access-control systems and camera monitoring, and a professional appearance. If your company invests in training for first aid, CPR, or conflict resolution, mention it as well. Candidates see those certifications as a benefit that follows them through their career, which makes them more likely to join and stay.

Where to Put the Poster

  • Veterans’ employment offices and military transition centres.
  • Community colleges with criminal justice programmes.
  • Workforce centres and job fairs.
  • The lobbies of client sites, where allowed, to recruit locally.
  • Online job groups, using the PNG download.

Printing the Navy and Gold

Download the PDF and print on bright white paper; a laser printer gives the smoothest navy. The gold is a printed colour rather than metallic foil. For job fairs, an 18 x 24 inch foam-board print makes the shield visible from across the room, and the table remains readable at that size.

Security Recruiting Questions

Should I mention licence requirements?

Yes. State whether candidates need a guard card, whether you sponsor it, and whether armed posts require additional certification.

Can I use the poster for one site only?

Absolutely. Replace the table with one row, or delete the table and write the site’s details in its place.

Can I add a QR code?

Use the editor’s QR tool and place the code in the footer between the web address and the shield icon.

Open the template, fill the table with your open posts, set your pay range inside the shield, and start interviewing this week.
