Finance hiring managers read numbers before words. This template opens on a dark navy header with a quiet candlestick chart rising across it and a ticker tape of your core skills underneath, so the page feels at home on a trading floor or in an FP&A team before anyone reads your first bullet.

Market Open: The Header

Your name is set in white Domine capitals on deep navy, with your title, specialism and CFA progress in spaced gold letters below. Contact details sit in a two-by-two grid with green icons. On the right, eleven translucent green and red candlesticks climb from left to right, crossed by a gold moving-average line. Directly beneath, a darker strip runs the full width of the page like a ticker, listing skills in monospace capitals, each followed by a green up arrow.

The Trading Desk: Body Layout

The white main column holds your profile, three roles, selected models, awards and activities, and tools. Each section heading starts with a small green triangle, the universal sign for up. A pale grey column on the right shows three key figures in large Roman numerals, four skill bars in green, and education and credentials.

Earnings Call: Questions You Should Be Ready to Answer

Every figure you place in the key-figures column is an invitation to a question. Prepare a one-minute answer for each before you apply.

  1. How did you own a $480M budget? Explain the business units, your role in the cycle, and who signed off.
  2. What caused the forecast error to drop? Describe the drivers you modelled and how you tested them.
  3. Where did the $6.5M in savings come from? Name the categories, the analysis, and the decision it led to.
  4. Walk me through a DCF. Keep a simple, recent example ready that matches your models section.

Choosing Ticker Skills

The ticker strip is the first list a reader sees, so use it for six skills taken straight from the posting. Corporate finance roles respond to FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Investment roles look for DCF, comparable companies, LBO, and credit analysis. Data-heavy roles add SQL, Python, or Power BI. Keep each entry short; long phrases will wrap and break the tape effect.

Updating the Charts and Colors in Word

  • The navy header, candlesticks, moving-average line, ticker strip, and grey column are shapes in the page header. Double-click near the top of the page to select them; use Shape Fill to change colors or delete candles you do not want.
  • The ticker text is a single editable line in a table cell. Type over a skill and keep the arrow after it.
  • Skill bars are two-cell tables; drag the boundary to change a level.

Analyst, Senior Analyst, or Associate?

Seniority changes what belongs on the page. Analysts in their first two years should lead with tools, models built, and the volume of work they handled, such as reports produced or deals supported. Senior analysts should show ownership: budgets they ran, forecasts they signed, and leaders they advised. Associates moving towards management can add a line about reviewing junior analysts' models and training new hires. Adjust the key figures to match, so the biggest numbers on the page reflect the level you are aiming for.

Finance Roles That Fit This Look

FP&A analysts, corporate finance and treasury analysts, investment and equity research associates, credit analysts and finance graduates. If you work in a more conservative bank, keep the layout and set the candlesticks to a single soft grey for a calmer look.

Typefaces and Sending the File

Domine and Open Sans are free from Google Fonts; the ticker uses Roboto Mono, also free. The template is one US Letter page. Send a PDF so the dark header and chart arrive exactly as designed, and keep the Word version for tailoring each application.
