Dental offices look for hygienists who are skilled, gentle, and great with people. This resume has the same feeling as a bright, clean practice: soft mint, white space, and a few small sparkles that hint at a fresh smile. It is easy for an office manager to read, and it makes your license and patient numbers easy to find.

A Clean, Friendly Look

A pale mint sidebar runs down the left side of the page, with a large rounded curve at its top-right corner. A round photo sits at the top inside a white ring, with two small teal four-point sparkles beside it. More sparkles appear at the top right of the page and the bottom of the sidebar. The sidebar holds your contact details, clinical skills with teal bars, licenses, and languages.

On the right, your name and RDH credential are set in Cabin in deep teal, with your title in spaced aqua capitals. A short introduction follows, then three patient-care figures in aqua: patients seen per day, recall booking rate, and patient review score. Experience, education, continuing education, and community work fill the rest of the page.

Patient-Care Numbers to Show

  • Patients per day. Shows you can keep a schedule full and on time.
  • Recall or re-care booking rate. Practices value hygienists who bring patients back.
  • Review scores or compliments. A sign that nervous patients feel comfortable with you.
  • Periodontal treatment acceptance. Useful for periodontal or specialist practices.

If you do not have exact figures, ask your office manager; most practice software reports them.

Skill Bars That Match the Job Posting

The five clinical skills in the sidebar should mirror what the practice asks for. General practices care about prophylaxis, radiographs, sealants, and patient education. Periodontal offices look for scaling and root planing, periodontal charting, and maintenance. If your state allows it, list local anaesthesia and nitrous oxide monitoring. Laser certification, intraoral scanning, and digital charting systems are worth adding if you have them.

Licenses and Continuing Education

Your RDH license should be the first item under licenses, followed by any permits your state requires, such as local anaesthesia, and CPR or BLS. The continuing education section on the right shows that you keep learning; list the last three courses that matter, such as laser therapy, infection control, or motivational interviewing. Many states require CE hours for renewal, so this section also shows you are in good standing.

New Graduates

If you have just passed your boards, list your clinical rotations and the number of patients you treated in school. Use the stat area for clinic hours, sealants placed, or a national board score you are proud of. Volunteer work at school sealant programs and free clinics belongs in the community section and shows your commitment to patients. Mention any languages you speak too, because many practices serve families who are more comfortable in their first language.

Personalizing the Template in Word

  • Right-click the photo and choose Change Picture. If square corners appear, use Picture Format, then Crop, Crop to Shape, and Oval.
  • The mint sidebar, white ring, and sparkles are shapes in the page header. Double-click near the top of the page to select them and change Shape Fill.
  • Skill bars are two-cell tables; drag the boundary between the teal and pale cells.
  • Delete the photo and ring if you prefer a resume without a picture.

Typefaces for a Clean Finish

The template uses Cabin and Nunito Sans, both free on Google Fonts. It fits one US Letter page. Email a PDF to dental offices and bring a printed copy to working interviews, where the office manager may want to pass it to the dentist.
