Contractors and facility managers hiring electricians want three answers fast: are you licensed, are you safe, and can you do the work they have. This template answers all three at first glance. A black header with a yellow lightning bolt and a hazard-striped edge says electrical trade from across the room, and your licenses sit right underneath in their own badges.

What the Page Looks Like

The top of the page is solid black. A bright yellow lightning bolt sits on the left, your name runs beside it in tall white Archivo Narrow capitals, and your license level appears in spaced yellow letters with a one-line summary underneath. Contact details stack on the right with small yellow icons. Along the bottom of the header, a band of yellow and black hazard stripes runs edge to edge.

Below, a light grey column on the left holds license badges with yellow tabs, trade skills with five-dot ratings, and the tools you use. Faint circuit traces, with small nodes, run through the bottom of that column. The white main area holds your profile, experience, notable projects, and training.

License Badges First

Licenses are the first thing a hiring foreman checks, so they get their own badges at the top of the left column. Each badge has the license name in bold and a short line underneath, such as the issuing state and a license number placeholder. Typical entries are a journeyman or master license, OSHA 10 or 30, NFPA 70E arc-flash training, and any manufacturer or low-voltage certifications. Add the expiry year if the employer is likely to ask.

Notable Projects Section

Electricians are often judged by the jobs they have worked on. The notable projects section lists three, each with a bold name and one line on the scope, such as the size of the service, the systems installed, or the shutdown window. Pick projects similar to the work the employer does: hospitals for healthcare contractors, plants for industrial firms, EV chargers for companies chasing that market.

Apprentices and Master Electricians

If you are an apprentice, list your hours and the types of work you have done in the experience section, and put your apprenticeship program at the top of education. Trade skill dots can be honest: three dots for skills you are still learning is fine. Master electricians and estimators should add permits pulled, crews managed, and bids won, and can swap the tools list for estimating and design software.

Rewiring the Design in Word

  • The black header, lightning bolt, hazard stripes, grey column, and circuit traces are shapes in the page header. Double-click near the top of the page to select them; recolor the bolt and stripes to match a company color if you like.
  • License badges are one-cell tables with a thick yellow left border; type over the text or copy a badge to add another.
  • Skill dots are ordinary characters you can recolor one by one, so a rating takes seconds to adjust.

Typefaces and Paper Copies

Archivo Narrow and Roboto are free from Google Fonts; install both before editing. The page is one US Letter sheet. The black header uses a lot of ink, so send a PDF for online applications and print a few copies on a laser printer for job fairs or union halls.
