Hair Stylist Resume Template with Flowing Strand Design
Salon owners judge stylists by their work, their clients, and their sense of style. Your resume is part of that impression. This template feels like an upscale salon: soft blush tones, flowing lines that look like strands of hair, an arched photo frame, and a Service Menu that shows your strengths the way a salon shows its prices.
Flowing Lines and an Arched Frame
In the top-right corner, five curved lines in blush, soft pink, and black sweep down and across the page edge like strands of freshly styled hair. On the left, your photo sits in a tall blush arch, the shape of a salon mirror. Your first name is set in Playfair Display italics, with your surname in bold beneath, and your title appears in spaced blush capitals over your contact details.
The Service Menu
On the right side of the page, the Service Menu lists six services in italic Playfair, each followed by a dotted line and a level such as Signature, Expert, Advanced or Skilled. It reads like a salon price list, and it tells an owner instantly what you are best at. Put your strongest service first and mark it Signature. Underneath, Client Loyalty shows your rebooking rate, number of regular clients, and average review score, followed by the brands you know.
Why Rebooking Matters So Much
For salon owners, your rebooking rate and regular clients are worth as much as your technical skill, because they mean steady revenue. If you do not track your rebooking rate, check your salon software or count how many clients booked their next visit before leaving. Retail sales of home-care products are another figure owners like to see, so add them to your experience bullets if you can.

Assistants and New Stylists
If you are finishing cosmetology school or working as an assistant, list your training, the services you can perform alone, and any models you have built a following with. Use the service menu honestly, with more Skilled than Signature, and put your cosmetology license or exam date in the education section. Owners hiring juniors look for attitude, eagerness to learn, and a tidy station.
Colorists, Barbers and Bridal Stylists
The template works across the industry. Colorists can fill the menu with balayage, corrections, and toning. Barbers can list fades, beard shaping, and hot towel shaves. Bridal stylists can feature trials, updos, and on-site styling. Change the blush accents to charcoal or navy for a barbershop, or keep them soft for a bridal studio.
The Trade Test
Many salons ask stylists to complete a trade test before an offer. Bring your own tools, arrive early, and treat the model like a paying client. Talk through your consultation out loud so the owner hears how you listen and advise. Mention your strongest service from the menu and offer to show it if time allows.
Restyling the Page in Word
- The strands, arch, and footer band are shapes in the page header. Double-click near the top of the page to recolor them.
- Right-click the photo and choose Change Picture; crop to an oval or keep it rectangular inside the arch.
- The menu uses dotted tab leaders, so levels stay aligned as you edit.
Typefaces for a Salon Feel
Playfair Display and Josefin Sans are free from Google Fonts; both are needed for the elegant headings and airy body text. The resume fits one US Letter page. Send a PDF and bring a printed copy with your portfolio to trade tests.
