An Intern ID That Looks Like It Belongs to the Company
Interns come and go on a schedule, usually a summer or a semester, and companies often issue a temporary card to them. A well made intern ID helps the intern get into the building, sign into systems, borrow equipment and be recognised by staff. It also sets a standard: this is a role in the company, with a start and an end. This template gives you a friendly, modern design with the details most programmes need on one card.
Intern Card Front: Teal and Navy Rounds
The card is portrait, 2.125 x 3.375 inches. The top has a dark navy rounded panel with soft teal blocks behind it. A teal light bulb icon and the company name, BrightPath Solutions Pvt. Ltd., sit at the top in white. A white rounded cut-out holds the photo placeholder. Below, SARAH JOHNSON is in bold dark capitals, with a teal pill reading Marketing Intern. A pale teal table lists Department: Marketing and Communications, ID No: INT-2048, Duration: June to September 20XX, Contact: +1 (202) 555-0147 and Email: [email protected].
Intern Card Back: Organisation and Notes
The back has a teal rounded header with INTERN ID CARD in teal capitals on a dark panel, and a large light bulb icon. A table lists Organization: BrightPath Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Address: 1254 Innovation Street, New York, NY 10001 and Website: www.brightpath.com. Under Notes, two check icon lines say: This ID card remains the property of BrightPath Solutions Pvt. Ltd. If found, please return it to the HR Department. At the bottom sit a QR code and the line for an authorised signature.
Make the Duration Field Work
The Duration line, for example June to September 20XX, is the most valuable one for an intern card. It shows when access should end, and it reminds the intern that the card is temporary. Use exact dates where you can, such as 3 June to 30 August 2027, and set a reminder to collect the card on the last day.
Tailor the Title
The pill reads Marketing Intern. Change it to the intern’s real programme: Software Engineering Intern, Finance Intern, Summer Associate, Graduate Trainee. Match the department row to the team they work with. Keep both lines short, so they fit the space.
Contact Details for Interns
Use the company’s phone and email format. A work email such as a first name at your company gives the intern a professional address, and it can be closed at the end. Avoid printing a personal phone number.
Photo and Privacy
Click the placeholder and choose Replace Image. Get the intern’s consent for a photo, and store the files safely. Delete the photos when the intern leaves, in line with your data policy.
An Orientation Pack Idea
Issue the ID card on the first day, together with a short welcome pack: a schedule, a list of contacts, the dress code and the rules of the building. The back of the card can carry the HR phone number, so that the intern knows who to ask.
Printing a Season of Intern Cards
Print on 250 to 300 gsm card stock, both sides, and laminate for a season of use. Add a slot for a lanyard. Teal prints well on most printers, but test one copy.
