A Card for Staff Who Are Often Seen by Clients
Some staff cards are used mainly inside the building. Others are seen by clients, partners and visitors, because the employee works at client sites, attends meetings or leads projects. For those people, the card is part of the company’s image. This corporate professional ID is built for that second group. It is calm and confident, with a deep navy and bright blue palette and a layout that keeps the key facts easy to read.
Professional Card Front: Navy and Blue Wedges
The card is portrait, 2.125 x 3.375 inches. The top is dark navy with a blue swirl logo and the words NEXUS GLOBAL SOLUTIONS PVT. LTD. in white. Bright blue shapes sweep across the left, and a white circle holds the photo placeholder. Below, JONATHAN REED is in bold navy capitals, with a blue pill reading Senior Project Manager. A pale blue table lists Department: Operations and Strategy, Employee ID: NGS-0925-047, Date of Joining: 12 March 20XX, Contact: +1 212 555 7842 and Email: [email protected]. A QR code sits at the lower left, and navy and blue wedges close the bottom. The font is Roboto Slab.
Professional Card Back: Address, Emergency and Note
The back is navy at the top with COMPANY ADDRESS in blue, followed by Nexus Global Solutions Pvt. Ltd., 500 Madison Avenue, Suite 4200, New York, NY 10022, USA. A large blue logo medallion leads to the heading PROFESSIONAL ID CARD. A table lists Emergency Contact: +1 212 555 8889, Blood Group: O+ and Valid Till: December 20XX. A Note says the card is the property of the company and must be returned upon request or termination. The last items are a QR code and a place for the signature.
Match the Title to the Role Clients Understand
Titles such as Senior Project Manager are common, but if clients have never heard of your internal grades, a plain title is better. Think about what the client sees: “Project Manager” may be enough. If the title is long, shorten it to fit the pill, or reduce the font size slightly.
What the Date of Joining Tells People
A Date of Joining line is useful for HR and for staff who work on long projects, but it is not essential on a card seen by clients. If you do not need it, replace the row with Mobile or Office Location. Cards should carry what the holder needs to prove, not everything the system knows.
QR Codes That Work for Professionals
A QR code can open the person’s professional profile or a business card page, which clients can save to a phone. Replace the sample picture with a real link, and test it. This is a more useful use than a code that only links to a home page.
Using the Same Template for a Whole Department
Save one file per person and change only the name, title, ID, dates and photograph. Print them together so that the batch looks uniform. Keep the company logo and address the same.
Printing and Issuing Professional Cards
Use PVC cards for a premium look, printed on both sides, or 250 to 300 gsm card stock laminated. Add a slot for a lanyard or a clip. Keep a register of cards, collect them from leavers and replace lost ones promptly.
For a card with an orange accent, see the business ID card. For a hospital staff card, see the doctor ID card. More are in ID cards.
