Press Release for a Typographic Certificate
If you like a certificate where the words are the decoration, this is one to look at. A large stamp-style message, I WISH YOU MERRY CHRISTMAS, takes up the right half of the card and works like a small poster. The left half is a calm, orderly form. The two halves balance each other well, so the card feels designed rather than decorated.
What You See
The certificate is 8.5 x 4 inches in landscape. The background is almost white, with a pale grey photograph of snowy pine trees fading in from the top and bottom. A bold red frame surrounds the card, with a thin grey inner line, and each corner has a sprig of red holly leaves and a small bell.
At the top left, a tiny gift box icon sits beside the words Gift Certificate, in a mix of grey and red script. On the right, the stamp reads I WISH YOU in grey capitals, then MERRY in large red letters, then CHRISTMAS in large grey letters. A small red tree sits on a roof-like arch above the words, with thin red lines framing the stack.
The Form on the Left
- Amount is a small box marked with a red dollar sign.
- To is a long red line with the grey prompt Recipient Name.
- From is another line with Sender Name.
- Valid shows dd-mm-yy, to be replaced with your own date.
- Signature sits beside it on a shorter line.
Making the Message Your Own
The lettering stamp is artwork, so it is not edited as text. For a business that wants a different greeting, delete the stamp and type your own message on the right in a bold font, using the same grey and red colours. That keeps the layout and swaps the words. If you keep the stamp, you only need to fill in the form.
Colour and Paper
The mostly white background keeps ink use light, and the red and grey are easy to match. A smooth white card stock between 250 and 300 gsm gives the red frame a crisp edge. If the printer cuts into the frame, print on a larger sheet and trim.
Where This Design Fits
The restrained palette suits banks, schools, law offices and churches, as well as shops that want a classic gift certificate without cartoon figures. The wording is explicitly Christmas, so use a different design for mixed audiences.
Choosing Between Stamp and Plain Versions
Some givers like the large I WISH YOU MERRY CHRISTMAS stamp, and some prefer a quieter card. If you want a plain version, delete the stamp, enlarge the form and place a short greeting of your own in the space. The red frame with holly and bells will still carry the festive look, and the pale pine trees stay softly in the background.
Check the result on screen, then print one test copy before you commit to a batch.
If you prefer a general holiday greeting, take a look at the holiday gift card with fir branches. For a softer look in pink, see the pine tree motif holiday voucher. Everything is gathered in gift certificates and vouchers.
