Name the Product on the Card
Most gift certificates carry a dollar amount. Sometimes you want to give something specific instead: a bottle of wine, a pair of boots, a piece of jewellery, a specific book. This voucher is made for that case. Across the top, a line of spaced letters reads Product Name Goes Here, and it is the first thing you change.
Anatomy of the Voucher
The certificate is 5.28 x 2.38 inches in landscape. The corners are cut with black and gold angled shapes, top left and bottom right in black, with golden triangles at the other two corners, framing a clean white field. In the top left, Product Name Goes Here is set in light grey letters. Directly under it, GIFT CERTIFICATE is printed in very large black capitals.
Below are four short lines, A Gift for, From, Sold By and Date, with Serial No. at the top right. A grey hatched strip divides the writing area from the footer. At the bottom left, a black box holds a gold LOGO. Next to it, the words COMPANY NAME HERE sit above a street address line and a phone and email line. On the right, a round gold and black seal reads $100 in gold numbers.
Examples of Use
| Business | Product Name line | Seal text |
|---|---|---|
| Bookshop | One Hardback of Your Choice | $30 |
| Wine merchant | One Bottle of Reserve Red | $45 |
| Bike shop | Full Service and Safety Check | $80 |
| Jeweller | Silver Bracelet | $120 |
Serial Numbers and Records
The Serial No. line is printed at the top right in small type. Fill it in for every voucher and keep a ledger with the same number, the product, the date and the seller. If a product line is discontinued, the ledger helps you offer a substitute fairly.
Editing the Gold Seal and Company Lines
- Retype the product line for each campaign.
- Replace the black LOGO box with your logo image.
- Edit the COMPANY NAME HERE, address, phone and email lines.
- Retype the value in the seal, or delete the seal for a product-only voucher.
Print and Trim
The black and gold corners add contrast, so use a good quality card stock of 250 to 300 gsm. Stack four vouchers in a single column on a letter sheet. The corner shapes go right to the edge, so trim carefully and consider a corner punch to soften the points.
Why a Product Line Reduces Disputes
A certificate that names a product avoids questions about value. If a price changes, the customer still gets the named item. For the business, that means predictable stock and clearer accounting. If you offer a choice, write something like “Any one item up to $50” on the product line.
Using the Grey Hatched Strip
The grey hatched strip in the middle of the card is a decorative divider. You can leave it, or you can use the space just above it for a short note such as an expiry date. Keep text small so that the strip still reads as a clean break between the form and the footer.
Similar layouts include the teal gift certificate for any business and the printable gift certificate with a black stub. Everything else is listed in gift certificates and vouchers.
