Fill-In Guide: Every Line on the Card
This certificate is designed around speed. Each line has a clear job, so someone behind a counter can fill it in within half a minute. Here is what goes where.
| Position | Label | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| Top left | Voucher No. | The serial number, recorded in your sales log |
| Top right | LOGO and slogan | Your brand, replaced in the editor |
| Middle left | A Gift for | The recipient’s name |
| Middle right | From | The person giving the gift |
| Lower left | Sold By | The staff member who made the sale |
| Lower right | Date | The date of purchase |
| Bottom right ribbon | $100 | The value of the certificate |
The Design in Words
The certificate measures 5.28 x 2.38 inches in landscape. The background is clean white, with a very faint pattern of snowflakes in pale blue and a thin red rectangle framing the content. In the top left corner a glossy red ribbon with a big bow sweeps across the corner, and a second ribbon ends in the bottom right, as if a present were being wrapped around the card.
At the top right is a LOGO with a slogan under it. The words Happy Christmas & Holidays are spaced out in small grey capitals, and GIFT CERTIFICATE follows in large black capitals. On the bottom row, a phone and email line sits beside a bold red ribbon banner with $100 in white.
Why the Seller Line Matters
Most gift certificate designs leave out a Sold By line, but it is a quiet protection for a business. If a customer disputes a certificate, you can check which team member sold it and on which day. For markets and pop-up shops where several people take turns at the stall, it also helps reconcile the cash at the end of the day.
Branding Steps
- Click LOGO and replace it with your own logo.
- Change the slogan line, or delete it if you have none.
- Retype the $100 to your value, or print several versions with different values.
- Replace the phone and email line with your contact details.
- Download the PDF and test print one copy.
The bows and ribbon corners are pictures placed on the card, so they keep their red colour. The frame and the text can be recoloured, for example to gold for a more luxurious look.
Printing Tips
The white background keeps ink use low. Use 250 to 300 gsm card stock and trim to the thin red frame. Four certificates fit on a letter sheet if you stack them in one column.
Selling at Events and Markets
If you run a stall, pre-print the value you sell most, such as the $100 shown on the ribbon, and fill in the rest at the table. A small rubber date stamp on the Date line makes each sale quick, and the Sold By line shows which helper made it. Keep the unsold stack flat and dry in a folder, because card stock curls in damp weather.
For a darker festive card in the same size, see the bunting and stars certificate. For a more elegant script design, try the hanging ornaments certificate. The full set lives in the Christmas gift certificate collection.
