There are few moments in a child’s education as joyful as the day they finish reciting the Qur’an from beginning to end. Families gather, teachers smile with quiet pride, and a student who once struggled with the first letters of the alphabet stands at the last chapter. This Quran completion report card template was designed to mark that day properly, with a keepsake that a family will treasure and a school will be proud to issue.

Many institutes around the world present a report card or certificate at a Khatm al-Qur’an celebration. Practices differ by country and by school, so this template is deliberately flexible: it records the journey, rates the quality of recitation, and leaves room for a personal du’a, and every word on it can be changed to match your own tradition.

What a Khatm report card is, and what it is not

It is a warm, formal record of a student’s achievement: who they are, when they began, when they finished, how well they recite, and which stages they passed on the way. It is not a ranking or a test paper, and it does not replace the teacher’s ongoing guidance. Think of it as a summary letter from the classroom to the family, written with gratitude.

Reading the card from top to bottom

The emerald header

A deep green header with a soft geometric star pattern and two gold-outlined arches frames the Bismillah in Arabic script. Underneath sit the title, Qur’an Completion Report Card, and the words The Noble Qur’an in Arabic. Your logo plate sits neatly in the corner.

The student block

A round photo frame with a gold ring sits beside nine fields: student name, father or guardian, class or level, institute, teacher, start date, completion date, duration, and overall result. The photo is optional; delete it if your school prefers not to use photos.

The completion statement

A gold-bordered strip states that the student has completed the recitation of the entire Holy Qur’an, from Surah Al-Fatihah to Surah An-Nas. Edit the sentence to suit your institute’s own wording.

Recitation assessment

An editable table lists six areas: accuracy, tajweed rules, makharij (articulation), fluency and pace, waqf and ibtida (stopping and starting), and adab, or manners with the Qur’an. Tick one of four columns from Excellent to Needs practice. Because it is a real table, you can add rows for areas you assess, such as memorization of short surahs, or remove ones you do not.

Journey through the Qur’an

A second table records stages: the Noorani Qaida, Juz 30, Juz 1 to 10, Juz 11 to 20, and Juz 21 to 29, each with a completion date, teacher initials, and a short remark. Edit the stages to match how your curriculum is organized.

Remarks, du’a, signatures, and seal

Two boxes hold the teacher’s remarks and a du’a for the student. Three signature lines and a dashed circle for your official seal complete the page, and a footer carries a well-known saying from Sahih al-Bukhari: The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.

Ideas for the Khatm celebration

  • Invite parents and grandparents, and let the student recite a short portion aloud.
  • Present the report card with a small gift such as a copy of the Qur’an or a book of du’as.
  • Ask classmates to write one kind sentence each, then attach them to the card.
  • Take a photograph of the student holding the card for the family album.
  • Print an extra copy for the institute’s records or notice board, with permission.

Five short remarks a teacher might write

  • Recites with clarity, humility, and love. May Allah increase you in knowledge.
  • Your tajweed has grown beautifully; keep revising a little every day.
  • A gentle, dependable student who helps others learn.
  • Your makharij are precise, and your pace is calm and steady.
  • Alhamdulillah for this achievement. Continue to live by what you recite.

Customizing it for your institute

  1. Open the template in the editor and click the round photo; choose Replace Image and upload the student’s picture.
  2. Type the student and institute details in the nine fields.
  3. Move the ticks in the recitation assessment and update the journey table.
  4. Rewrite the remarks and du’a in your own words, and add your institute’s logo or seal.
  5. Download the finished card as a PDF, PNG, or JPG.

Printing on A4 for a keepsake

The template is A4, 210 x 297 mm, the standard size in most countries where Qur’an classes are widely held. Download the PDF and print at actual size on thick, matte or cream paper, around 120 to 200 gsm. The gold border sits inside a safe margin, so it prints cleanly on most printers. For a formal presentation, place the card in a simple folder or frame. Digital copies in PNG or JPG are ideal for sharing with relatives abroad.

Common questions

Is Arabic text editable?
Yes. The Bismillah and other Arabic lines use the Amiri font. Click to edit, and use the toolbar if you prefer another Arabic style.
Can I change the stages in the journey table?
Yes. Rename, add, or remove rows to match your own curriculum, for example by Para or by Surah.
Does it include images of people?
No. The design uses only geometric patterns, arches, and stars; the photo frame is for the student’s own picture and can be removed.
Can I use it for girls’ and boys’ classes alike?
Absolutely. Change Ustadh to Ustadha, and edit the wording as needed.
Can I remove the hadith at the bottom?
Yes. Click the footer line and type any message you prefer.

Keeping the record for the years ahead

A Khatm card is often kept for decades. Students look at it as teenagers and adults, and parents show it to grandchildren. Because the template stores the start date, the completion date, and the stages in between, it doubles as a small history of the student’s education. Save the digital file with the student’s name and the year, so that you can reprint a copy if it is ever lost, and consider giving the family a PDF as well as the printed card.

Above all, keep the tone simple and sincere. A few humble words from a teacher, a du’a, and a signature will always mean more than elaborate wording.

Give your student a card worthy of the day. Open the template, add their achievement, and download it in minutes.
