Make People Want to Be Scared for Less
A haunted attraction depends on ticket sales in a short season. Most of the money comes in the last two weeks before Halloween, and the best way to fill quiet weeknights is a coupon that gives people a reason to come early. This one is dressed for the part. A giant mansion rises against a full moon, a ghost hovers nearby, and the line GET SPOOKED FOR LESS! tells guests what to do.
What the Coupon Looks Like
The coupon is 6 x 3 inches in landscape. The background is deep purple with a pale moon in the upper right. A black and purple haunted house with crooked towers, glowing pink windows and tilted crosses fills the right half, with two jack-o’-lanterns and a bat for company. A tiny ghost floats at the top.
On the left, Haunted House is written in a white script above a dark plum banner that reads ADMISSION DISCOUNT COUPON, and a pink tag below it shows COUPON CODE: SPOOKY25. Under the line GET SPOOKED FOR LESS!, a huge white 25% sits above OFF ADMISSION. The footer reads Expires: October 31, 2024, with the rule VALID FOR ONE ENTRY ONLY AT [HAUNTED HOUSE NAME]. A white QR code tile sits at the lower right. The type is Barlow with Alex Brush.
Replace the Bracket and the Year
- Type your attraction’s name over [HAUNTED HOUSE NAME].
- Change Haunted House in the script heading, if your name is different.
- Replace October 31, 2024 with this year’s final night.
- Change SPOOKY25 if you prefer another code, and keep it in sync with the 25%.
- Replace the QR code with a link to your ticket page.
Rules That Protect Ticket Revenue
A haunted house is sensitive to crowds and capacity, so build limits into the coupon. Add a short line such as “Valid Sunday to Thursday only” or “Not valid on October 30 and 31.” Decide whether the coupon works for groups, and say “per person” or “per party.” Staff will thank you for clear rules, and guests will feel it is fair.
Safety and Age Notices
Many attractions have age limits or warnings. The coupon is a good place for a small note, such as “Recommended for ages 12 and over.” It is short, helpful and sets expectations before the visit.
Distribution That Works for Attractions
Local schools, cafes, cinemas and sports clubs are good places to leave stacks. Offer coupons to groups that bring many guests, such as youth clubs or offices. You can also post the coupon image online with a code that people type at the ticket desk. Print on matte 200 to 250 gsm stock, and three coupons fit down a letter sheet at this size.
Group Bookings and Early Bird Offers
Many haunted attractions earn most of their revenue from groups. You can use this coupon for a group offer by retyping the text, for example “25% off for groups of ten or more.” Another idea is an early evening deal, when lines are shorter, such as “25% off entries before 7 PM.” Both fill the quiet times and keep the busy nights comfortable for guests and actors alike.
