Stadium games, concerts, fairs, festivals, church events, and graduation ceremonies all have one thing in common: drivers looking for somewhere to park. Businesses, schools, churches, and homeowners near those venues often open their lots or lawns for event parking, sometimes as a fundraiser, sometimes as a side income. A professional-looking sign makes all the difference: drivers trust a clear, well-designed sign, pull in confidently, and pay without questions. This Event Parking Sign Template shows the price, the terms, and the entrance at a glance.
Recognisable from the Road
The sign is 24 x 18 inches in landscape, the standard size for corrugated yard signs and A-frame inserts. The left third is a solid blue column with the internationally recognised parking symbol: a huge white letter P inside a rounded white outline. Below it, slanted white stall lines on the blue suggest a parking lot. The right side is white. EVENT is set in widely spaced blue Anton capitals over PARKING in large dark letters. A yellow pennant-shaped price flag, with a notch at its end, shows $10 in big dark numerals with ALL DAY and per vehicle beside it.
Under the pennant, three short lines with blue square bullets give the terms: cash or card accepted, attendant on duty until 10 PM, oversized vehicles $20. A big blue arrow at the bottom reads ENTER HERE in white, pointing drivers into the lot, and our logo sits in blue beneath the arrow.
Setting Your Price and Terms
| Event type | Typical approach | Sign wording |
|---|---|---|
| Stadium or arena game | Flat rate, pay on entry | $20 · GAME DAY |
| Local fair or festival | Flat daily rate | $10 · ALL DAY |
| Church or school event | Donation | DONATION · ALL WELCOME |
| Concert | Price per car, with a larger vehicle rate | $15 · RVs $30 |
| Free overflow parking | No charge | FREE · OVERFLOW LOT |
Round prices are easiest for attendants handling cash. Collect payment as cars enter; it avoids chasing drivers later.
Changing the Rate, Rules and Arrow
- Click the price and the ALL DAY and per vehicle lines to change the rate and terms.
- Edit the three rule lines: payment methods, hours, and any special rates or restrictions.
- Change EVENT to STADIUM, FESTIVAL, or CUSTOMER to suit your use.
- For a left turn, select the blue arrow and choose Flip Horizontal; the ENTER HERE text stays readable because it is separate.
- Change the blue to another colour if you like, but blue with a white P is what drivers expect for parking.
Running an Event Parking Lot
Good parking operations are safe, quick and friendly. Before the day, check that you are allowed to charge for parking on your property; some towns require a permit or restrict parking businesses near venues, and some leases forbid it. Mark out rows with cones or chalk so cars park efficiently. Have at least two people: one taking payment at the entrance and one directing cars to spaces. Keep a clear route for emergency vehicles and a path out for early leavers. Provide a receipt or dashboard card so drivers know they have paid.
Placement for Maximum Business
Place the main sign at the lot entrance, facing traffic heading toward the venue, early enough for drivers to signal and turn. On busy routes, an additional sign further back (EVENT PARKING AHEAD · $10) gives drivers time to decide. Volunteers or attendants holding a sign at the roadside, safely back from traffic, attract even more cars. When the lot is full, cover the price with a LOT FULL sign printed in the same style so drivers do not queue in vain.
Printing and Durability
Download the PDF and order corrugated plastic signs at 24 x 18 inches with H-stakes for lawns, or aluminium composite panels for signs you will use every season. Double-sided printing lets drivers from both directions see the price. For attendants, a US Letter print, scaled to fit and laminated, makes a handy card to hold up at the entrance. A LOT FULL version and a second sign with the arrow flipped complete a practical set.
For Businesses with Customer Parking
If you own a shop or restaurant near a popular venue, you can use the same design the other way round: make it CUSTOMER PARKING ONLY, replace the price with “Event parking $20 or free with purchase”, and keep your spaces for paying customers while still earning from event traffic. It is a clear, polite way to manage a busy lot.
Handling Cash and Records
A busy event lot can take in a lot of cash in a short time. Use a lockable cash box or apron, start with a float of small notes, and move surplus cash out of the attendant’s hands regularly. Count takings with two people at the end of the day and keep a simple tally of cars parked, which helps you set a better price next time. If you are raising funds for a school or charity, a thank-you post with the total raised encourages drivers to park with you again.
Event Parking Sign FAQ
Can I add a QR code for card payments?
Yes. Add a QR code from the editor’s code tool under the rules and link it to your payment page, then keep a card reader as a backup.
Can I use it for a private driveway?
Yes, for example, on game days near a stadium. Change the rules to Compact cars only · 2 spaces to set expectations.
Can I make a portrait version?
Change the canvas to 18 x 24 inches, move the blue column to the top as a header, and stack the content below.
What if it rains?
Corrugated plastic and aluminium signs are waterproof, so the sign is fine. Consider lowering the price or adding Covered spaces if you have them, since wet days change what drivers will pay.
Fill Your Lot, Fast
