A Wave Design for Doctors Who Treat the Whole Family
Family medicine doctors care for children, parents and grandparents, so their page has to feel friendly and dependable for every age. This letterhead uses soft blue waves and a small red cross logo, which signals care at once. It suits family doctors, primary care clinics, community health physicians and doctors who run a neighbourhood practice.
Layered Blue Waves
The page is 8.5 x 11 inches, portrait, one page. Waves in two or three tones of blue curve across the top and along the foot. They suggest calm, like water, which is a gentle choice for a medical page. The waves are graphics and do not change when you edit the text.
The Red Cross Logo
A red cross sits beside the name block. Be careful: in many countries the red cross emblem is protected by law and reserved for the Red Cross movement and military medical services. If your local rules limit its use, replace the sample with your own mark by choosing Replace Image. A green or blue cross, or a plain clinic monogram, is a safe alternative.
Degrees and Hospital Lines
The header gives Dr. First Last Name, then MBBS, DHMS, Other Degree and Hospital Full Name Goes Here. Type your own name and qualifications, and the name of the clinic or hospital where you practise. Keep this line short, because long strings of degrees wrap onto a second row.
Contact Footer for Families
The foot has a street address, a phone number with an email, and a website. Families like to know opening hours and after hours arrangements, so add them in a small text box. A line saying Walk in visits welcome on Saturdays, if true, can save many calls.
A Date Line at the Top
A Date line sits above the writing area, at the left in this layout. Write letters to parents in a warm tone, and address the child by name when it is a child’s letter. Keep medical terms light.
Everyday Family Medicine Letters
- School and sports clearance letters.
- Vaccination schedules and reminders.
- Referrals for tests and specialists.
- Letters for elderly patients and carers.
- Information for new families who join the practice.
Changing Your Doctor Details
All text is editable. If your clinic has a team, create one version per doctor, changing only the name and degrees. Save each version under a clear file name. The waves and the cross are fixed pictures or shapes.
Printing the Blue Wave Page
A colour laser prints the waves smoothly on 100 gsm paper. For digital letters, a PDF keeps the shapes sharp. Test one page to make sure the footer is not clipped.
Sharing One Page Across Several Doctors
A group practice can keep one master and make a copy for each doctor. Change the name and the degrees line, and keep the footer the same. When a doctor leaves, delete that copy at once so that no old letters go out with a former name.
For a plain GP page, see the general practitioner letterhead. For a family physician with an Rx symbol, try the family physician letterhead. For a children’s doctor, see the pediatrician letterhead. More are in letterheads.
