A Cover That Looks Like a Layout Grid
Web developers and designers think in grids, and this cover reflects it. A staircase of dark teal squares fills the top left corner, a thin teal frame outlines the page and a navy diagonal band cuts across the lower right with a cluster of squares on it. It feels digital and tidy. It suits freelancers, agencies and in house teams who send website, app or redesign proposals.
Staircase Blocks and the Diagonal Band
The page is 8.5 x 11 inches, portrait, one page. The blocks at the top left grow like pixels. A thin teal line frames the page and breaks near the corners. The navy band at the lower right holds a small group of squares and the date, April 12, 2026. All of these are graphics and stay fixed.
WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL Title
The title uses a light line for WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT and a heavy line for PROPOSAL, both in deep teal blue. You can change the first line to Ecommerce Website, Website Redesign or Mobile App if you prefer. Keep PROPOSAL in the second line, which makes the document type clear in a folder.
Two Prepared For Labels to Check
The template shows PREPARED FOR twice. One sits at the upper right with a name and a job title. The second is a teal tab lower down with a name, job title, company, address, phone and email. There is no PREPARED BY label. Change the first one to PREPARED BY and enter your own details, so that the cover shows both the sender and the client. It takes a few seconds and avoids confusion.
The Sample Logo and the Date
At the top right a SAMPLE LOGO sits above the first block. Replace it with your studio mark. The date at the lower right is a sample. Type the date of your offer, and consider noting how long the offer is valid.
Writing a Website Proposal That Gets Approved
- State the goal of the site in business terms.
- List pages, features and integrations.
- Show the process: discovery, design, build, test, launch.
- Give dates for each stage and ask for client approvals.
- Price in stages, and explain hosting and maintenance.
Editing Online for the Teal Grid Cover
The text can be edited and resized. If you add a screenshot, place it on the next page, not on the cover, which already has shapes. Keep one font for the whole document so that cover and pages match.
Print and PDF for the Teal Grid Cover
This type of proposal is nearly always emailed as a PDF. Check the thin frame at full zoom to confirm that no line is cut. If you print, a laser on 120 gsm paper gives clean blocks.
Scope Control for Web Projects
Website jobs grow quietly, so say what is and is not included. List the number of pages, the number of design rounds and who provides text and images. Add a line about extra work being quoted separately. A proposal that sets limits protects both sides, and clients tend to respect a developer who is clear.
