Why Maroon, Velvet and Gold
Jewellery is displayed on deep velvet for a reason: dark, rich colour makes gold look warmer, and gems look brighter. The poster borrows that idea. The background is the colour of a jeweller’s display tray, the necklace sits on a slightly lighter oval like a velvet bust lit from above, and every line of type is in gold or ivory.
