December is the busiest month of the year, packed with parties, school concerts, shopping trips, and family gatherings. This December 2026 Calendar keeps it all in one place with a festive but practical design. A deep forest green header with a gold stripe holds two sprigs of holly with red berries, gentle falling snow, and the word December in large white script above 2026 in spaced gold numerals. Below, a large monthly grid with red day headers starts on Sunday and already shows the key dates: Hanukkah beginning at sundown on December 4, the winter solstice on the 21st, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the start of Kwanzaa, and New Year’s Eve. At the bottom you will find a notes area and a short gift list with checkboxes.
Why Print a December 2026 Calendar
Digital calendars are great for reminders, but a printed December calendar on the fridge or noticeboard lets the whole family see what is coming at a glance. Children can count down to the holidays, partners can spot clashing events, and everyone knows when the school play or office party is happening. Seeing the full month on paper also helps you notice when the schedule is getting too full, so you can protect a few quiet evenings for rest.
Holidays Already Marked on the December Calendar
The calendar uses the editor’s task style, so each holiday appears as a note inside its date box. December 2026 includes Hanukkah from the evening of Friday, December 4, the winter solstice on Monday, December 21, Christmas Eve on Thursday, Christmas Day on Friday, Boxing Day and the first day of Kwanzaa on Saturday, December 26, and New Year’s Eve on Thursday, December 31. You can edit, delete, or add notes for any day.
Adding Your Own December Events
Open the calendar’s notes in the editor to type your own plans into any date: school nativity, cookie swap, office party, carol service, travel days, or a family film night. Short notes of two or three words fit best and keep the grid easy to read. The date boxes are large, so there is plenty of room to write extra details by hand after printing.
The Holly and Snow December Header
The header combines a dark evergreen background, two holly sprigs, soft white snow dots and a gold stripe, giving the page a cosy seasonal feel without crowding the calendar. The holly and snow are editable, so you can recolour them, move them, or swap the holly for ornaments, stars, or a snowman from the editor’s library.
Changing the Month or Year
The date grid is a live Calendar object. If you want to reuse the design for December 2027, open Calendar Options, choose the new year, and the dates update automatically. You can also switch the week to start on Monday if that suits your household or country better.
Weekend Shading and Colours
Saturdays and Sundays have a soft cream background and red numbers, so weekends stand out at a glance. Change the weekend colours, the red day header, or the border colour in the calendar settings to match your home or office decor.
Using the December Gift List
The bottom right corner holds a short Gifts to Buy checklist. Write the names of people you still need to shop for, then tick them off as you go. For a longer list, duplicate the checkbox rows or use the notes area on the left for extra names and ideas.
The December Notes Area
Three ruled lines on the left give space for reminders that do not belong to a single day, such as post office deadlines, gift budgets, food orders or travel details. Keeping these notes on the same page as the calendar means you only need to check one place.
December Calendar for Busy Families
Families can colour code events by person with highlighters after printing, or add initials to each note. Put the calendar where everyone passes several times a day, such as the kitchen, and ask each family member to add their own plans so nothing is double-booked.
December Calendar for Offices and Teams
Teams can print the calendar for a shared board and mark holiday closures, deadlines before the break, and who is on leave. Add the date of the team party and the last working day before the holidays so everyone can plan their time off.
December Calendar for Teachers and Classrooms
Teachers can mark concerts, class parties, assessment dates, and the last day of term. The festive design is cheerful enough for a classroom wall and clear enough for parents when sent home in book bags or shared by email.
Printing the December 2026 Calendar
The calendar is US Letter portrait size. Download the PDF and print at actual size on plain paper or light card. The cream background and green header print well on home printers. For a sturdier wall calendar, print on matte card and pin it with festive clips.
Sharing the December Calendar Digitally
Download a PNG or JPG to share in a family group chat, a class app, or a team channel. Everyone can save the image to their phone for a quick reference while shopping or travelling.
Planning a Calmer December
Use the calendar to spot overloaded weeks and move flexible tasks earlier. Block out a few evenings as free nights, schedule shopping trips early to avoid crowds, and note shipping deadlines for gifts sent by post. A little planning makes the month far more enjoyable.
Matching Calendars for the New Year
Pair this design with the January 2027 and February 2027 calendars in the same collection for a smooth transition into the new year. You will also find year planners, weekly calendars and holiday calendars for the UK, Canada and Australia.
Saving the December Template
Save your edited calendar in your account. Next year, change the year in Calendar Options, update the notes for the new holiday dates, and print a fresh copy in minutes.
December Calendar File Formats
Download a PDF for printing or a PNG for screens. The holly header, red day names, and holiday notes stay crisp and readable in every format.
Advent and Countdown Ideas
Turn the December calendar into a simple countdown by crossing off each day before Christmas, or write a small activity in each box, such as baking cookies, watching a festive film, or making a card for a neighbour. Children love checking what each day brings.
