Online shops sell many of their gift certificates by email, but a lot of buyers still want something to hand over. This card works both ways. Download it as PNG or JPG to send in an email, or as a PDF to print and place in a stocking. The picture and wording talk to shoppers who buy from a screen.
Step by Step: Turning It Into Your Shop’s Certificate
- Open the template in the editor and click the logo area at the bottom left. Replace the red shopping bag icon and STORE LOGO with your own brand mark.
- Rename the heading. The words Online Shopping appear in a red script above CHRISTMAS GIFT CERTIFICATE. Retype the first words to the name of your shop or category, such as Home Decor or Pet Supplies.
- Replace the photograph. A woman in a Santa hat lies on a bed with a laptop, a credit card and a red gift in her hands. It sits inside a hexagon shape on the right. Click it, choose Replace Image, and add your own product photo or lifestyle picture.
- Fill the lines. Recipient Name, Gift Certificate Number, Valid Until, Amount and Issued By sit on the left. Online shops usually put a code in the Gift Certificate Number line.
- Edit the greeting. The footer reads “Merry Christmas and Happy Shopping!” in red. Change it to your own tagline if you like.
- Download. PDF for print, PNG or JPG for email.
How the Card Looks
The layout is landscape and measures 3.375 x 2.125 inches, the size of a credit card. The top section is near black with faint snowflake outlines. A red stripe and a white stripe slice diagonally across the right edge. The lower strip is white and carries the logo and the greeting. The contrast between black, white and red makes the card very readable on a phone screen, which matters for a certificate that will be shown at checkout.
Tips for Online Sellers
Because the card is dark and high contrast, it stays legible when it is shrunk to fit a phone screen or an email. Redemption codes should be unique and hard to guess. Type each one in the Gift Certificate Number line, then save a separate file for each recipient. If you sell many, a simple spreadsheet can track which codes are used.
