Ask a room full of nine-year-olds what they want at their party and the answer will be pizza before you finish the question. Pizza parties are easy, affordable, and loved by almost everyone, from toddlers to teenagers to the football team after the last game of the season. This invitation leans into all of that with a giant pizza right at the top.

One Slice Pulled Out

The top of the card is a huge pepperoni pizza viewed from above, with a golden crust, orange-red sauce, melted yellow cheese, scattered pepperoni, and green basil leaves. One slice has been pulled out towards the reader, with two strings of cheese still stretching back to the pie. It is a small detail that makes people smile, and it points the eye straight down to the words.

Under the pizza, You’re invited to a sits in spaced capitals above Pizza Party in big red Pacifico script. A green pill-shaped label reads For Leo’s 9th Birthday. The details follow: date and time, the pizzeria name and street, an italic line about making your own pizza, and a red RSVP line. A red-and-white gingham tablecloth runs across the bottom of the card, with the OTO logo on a little white label in the middle.

The card is 5 x 7 inches, portrait.

How Many Pizzas Do You Need?

The question every host asks. A large 14-inch pizza is usually cut into eight slices. Children typically eat two slices, teenagers three or four, and adults two or three. Use this table as a guide.

Order one extra plain cheese pizza for picky eaters and one vegetarian option. Leftover pizza is never a problem.

Party Formats That Fit This Card

The design works for more than one kind of pizza party. Change the green label and the italic line to match yours:

  • Make-your-own pizza party: kids top their own mini pizzas at a pizzeria or at home. Aprons provided!
  • Pizza and movie night:Pizza at 6, movie at 7, pyjamas welcome.
  • End-of-season team party: change the label to Go Tigers!Season wrap-up and list the coach as the RSVP contact.
  • Class celebration: Pizza Friday to celebrate a great term.
  • Office pizza lunch: a fun way to announce a team lunch or welcome a new colleague.

Customising the Pizza

The pizza is drawn from simple shapes, grouped so it moves as one piece. The pulled-out slice is its own group, so you can nudge it further out or rotate it. To change the toppings, double-click into the group or ungroup it; the pepperoni can become olives (recolour to black), mushrooms (light brown), or peppers (green). The gingham tablecloth is also one group, so you can switch red for blue or green in a few clicks.

Every line of text is editable. Change Leo’s 9th Birthday to your child’s name and age, and update the venue, time, and RSVP details. Pacifico, the friendly script used for the title, and Montserrat, used for the details, are both Google Fonts in the editor.

A Two-Hour Pizza Party Plan

Children’s parties run smoothest with a simple plan that keeps everyone busy. This schedule fits the noon-to-three window on the sample card, with a little slack built in:

  1. Arrival (15 minutes): a colouring table with pizza-themed sheets or a simple craft keeps early arrivals happy.
  2. Make-your-own pizzas (30 minutes): each child gets a small base, sauce, cheese, and two or three toppings. Write names on the baking paper so nobody loses their creation.
  3. Games while the pizzas bake (20 minutes): pass-the-parcel, a pizza-topping relay, or musical chairs.
  4. Eating (25 minutes): serve the homemade pizzas with a couple of extra pies from the pizzeria in case a creation does not survive the oven.
  5. Cake and candles (20 minutes): sing, blow, and slice.
  6. Presents and pick-up (the rest): open gifts or save them for later, and hand out favours at the door.

Many pizzerias run make-your-own parties for you, with staff, aprons and clean-up included. It is worth asking, because the cost per child is often similar to a party at home once you add up ingredients and supplies.

Little Touches for the Party

  • Use the gingham pattern as inspiration for tablecloths and napkins.
  • Print small slice cards with each child’s name to use as place cards.
  • Offer a pizza chef hat or apron as a party favour.
  • Bake a pizza-shaped cookie cake with sweets as toppings.

Sending the Invitation

Download a PDF to print the invitation at home or at a print shop on bright white card. The red and yellow look best on a smooth, slightly glossy stock. For class invitations, many parents print two cards on a letter-size sheet and cut them in half. Prefer to send it digitally? Download a PNG or JPG and share it in the class parents’ group or by text.

Pizza Party FAQs

Should siblings come too?

If you are happy to include brothers and sisters, say so on the card. Otherwise, a gentle drop-off party note sets expectations.

How long should a kids’ pizza party be?

Two to three hours is ideal: an activity, pizza, then cake and presents.

What about food allergies?

Add a line asking parents to mention allergies when they RSVP, and order a gluten-free or dairy-free pizza if needed.

Can I use this for an adult party?

Yes. Change the green label to Pizza and Pints or Friday Pizza Night, and it becomes a relaxed adult get-together.

Should I invite the whole class?

Many schools ask that invitations handed out in class go to everyone, or to all the girls or all the boys. If the party is smaller, send invitations privately by text or post instead of through school bags.

Type your child’s name, the venue, and the time, then send out the slices. Saturday’s pizza is already calling.
