A Letterhead for Technology Firms That Wants to Look Secure
Companies in information technology send a steady stream of letters: service agreements, support notices, quotations, data protection statements and tender replies. Clients expect the page to look dependable. This template suits that job. A teal shield stands for security, a circuit pattern hints at hardware and networks, and a dark chevron strip along the left side gives the page a firm edge.
The Chevron Strip and the Shield Logo
The page is 8.5 x 11 inches, portrait, one page. On the left, a dark strip made of stacked chevrons runs down the page. At the top, a teal shield with a bright centre sits beside a name area. A shield is an easy shape to swap, since the logo is a picture: click it, choose Replace Image and drop in your own mark. If your company name is long, place it in the text area next to the logo and reduce the size by a point or two.
The Circuit Watermark in the Middle
A pale circuit board pattern fills the centre of the page. It is light, so a black letter stays readable. The pattern suits IT support, networking, cybersecurity and software development. If you offer a mixed service, such as design and hosting, you may prefer to delete it and keep the page plain.
Vertical Social Handles Along the Side
Unlike most letterheads, the social handles /fbhandle, /twitterhandle and /LinkedInpage run vertically along the left strip. They look neat, but long handles need room, so keep them short. Many IT firms are found on LinkedIn first, so you may delete the other two and keep a single handle.
Contact Block and Reference Number
The foot of the page lists a street address, two phone numbers, an email address and a website. Under the header there is a Ref. No and Date line. For IT work, a reference number is useful for tickets, contracts and change orders. Type the ticket code or the contract code there and the letter will be easy to trace.
Letters an IT Business Might Write on This Page
- Support contract offers and renewals.
- Notices of planned maintenance or downtime.
- Quotations for hardware, licences and installations.
- Confirmation letters after a data migration.
- Reference letters for engineers and contractors.
A Spelling Error to Fix in the Template Title
The listing title of this template reads Letterehead, with an extra e. That is only the name of the template, not the page itself, and it does not appear on the letterhead. It is still worth knowing when you search for it. Inside the page, check every line of text as you would for any letter.
Printing the Dark Strip Cleanly
The dark chevron strip is heavy on ink. Print a test sheet and look at the edge: if there is a white border, use the fit to page option or a print shop with full bleed. For a PDF sent by email, no extra step is needed. Choose a good compression setting so the circuit pattern does not turn grainy.
Keeping the Page Current
Technology firms move offices and change domains more often than most. Keep the master file up to date and delete the old copies so that no one sends a letter with an old email address. Review the web address and the phone numbers every time you edit.
For a medical practice with a teal shield, see the medical practice letterhead. For a more neutral page, try the business letterhead. A bolder alternative is the business marketing letterhead. More are in letterheads.
