Step by Step: Make a Pet Care Gift Certificate in Ten Minutes
- Open the template and look at the top left of the card, where a line reads Pet Care Business Name. Retype it with your grooming salon, sitting service or clinic name.
- Change the heading if you need to. Pet Care is written in a gold script above GIFT CERTIFICATE. You can retype it to Dog Grooming, Dog Walking, Pet Sitting or Cat Boarding.
- Add the recipient. Click the line after Presented To and type the person’s name.
- Add the sender. Click the line after From.
- Give it a number. The Certificate Number line is for a code or sequence number you record in your booking system.
- Personalise the thank-you. The bottom sentence reads “Thank you for choosing [Your Business Name]! We look forward to taking care of your beloved pet.” Put your business name in the brackets.
- Download and print. Use PDF for the crispest result.
The Pug, the Paw Prints and the Gold Band
The certificate is 3.375 x 2.125 inches in landscape, the size of a credit card. The left edge is a mustard-gold band printed with pale paw prints, and a ribbon tab with a white paw hangs from the top right corner. The rest of the card is warm cream. On the right sits a detailed black and white drawing of a pug’s face, looking cheerful with its tongue out, outlined in gold.
The headline is set in two tiers: Pet Care in a gold script, and GIFT CERTIFICATE in strong black condensed capitals. The fonts used are Montserrat and a clean sans for the form text.
What to Say in the Thank-You Line
People who book pet care care deeply about their animals, so a short, warm line helps. Replace the default with something specific: “We cannot wait to meet your puppy,” or “Your dog’s spa day is on us.” Keep it under two lines so that it fits.
Practical Notes for Pet Businesses
- State the services included, such as a full groom or two walks.
- Add an expiry date so appointments can be planned.
- If you serve cats too, replace the pug picture with a neutral image or remove it.
- Keep a record of certificate numbers when you sell them.
Presenting a Pet Care Voucher
The earthy colours look best on warm white card stock, 250 to 300 gsm. A small treat bag or a bandana tied around the certificate makes the gift memorable. Trim carefully along the edges so that the gold band stays even.
Services You Can Put on the Card
Pet care covers a lot of ground. A groomer might offer a full wash and cut, nail trimming or a de-shedding treatment. A walker might sell a block of ten walks. A sitter might offer an overnight stay, and a vet clinic might offer a check-up or a vaccination package. Write the service on the Certificate Number line or add a line of your own, and your customers will know exactly what they are giving. Remember to mention dog size limits if prices depend on weight.
For a veterinary or wellness theme, try the spa and wellness certificate for ideas on layout, or the personalized service certificate. Everything is listed in gift certificates and vouchers.
