What Photographers Are Really Selling Here
A photography session is not a product, it is an afternoon with your family, a set of images that last for years, and a reason to dress up. That is a lovely thing to give, and it is a lot easier to give when it comes with a pretty card. This certificate lets a studio, or a photographer working on their own, sell sessions as gifts during the holiday season.
Layout Description
The certificate is 3.375 x 2.125 inches in landscape, the size of a credit card. The background is a pale cream with large faint diamond shapes. A thin coral frame runs along the top and right sides. On the left, Holiday is written in coral script above PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION in bold dark capitals, and a coral ribbon underneath reads GIFT CERTIFICATE.
On the right, three photographs overlap like prints on a table, each with a coral border. The largest shows a photographer in a black jacket holding a camera to his face. A smaller one shows a close-up of someone taking a picture, and the third shows a couple smiling at a screen. Below them are three lines: To, From and Redeemable Until, each with a bracketed placeholder. A short sentence at the bottom reads “You have received the gift of a Holiday Photography Session!”
Fix the Spelling Before You Print
The Redeemable Until label currently has an extra letter (“Untiil”). Click it in the editor and correct it so that the card looks professional. Clients judge photographers by their eye for detail, so this one deserves a quick check.
Replacing the Sample Photos
The three photographs are images, and you can replace each one. Click a photo, choose Replace Image, and upload your own work. Use pictures of families, couples or children that match what you want to be hired for. Choose strong, bright images, because they appear quite small on a card of this size.
What to Write in Each Line
| Line | Suggestion |
|---|---|
| To | The person or family receiving the session |
| From | The giver, or your studio name |
| Redeemable Until | A date that leaves time for outdoor light and weather |
| Bottom sentence | Details such as session length and number of edited images |
Selling Sessions as Gifts
Many photographers run a holiday mini-session offer and sell certificates a few weeks ahead. Keep the terms simple: how long the session lasts, how many edited images are delivered, and where it is held. Put the booking website or phone number on the back by duplicating the page.
Printing the Cream and Coral Card
Cream card stock between 250 and 300 gsm suits the soft colours and shows the photos clearly. Use a high quality print setting, because small photos need sharp detail. A glossy finish brings out the pictures, though a matte finish is easier to write on.
Choosing the Season for the Session
Holiday sessions are popular, but so are spring blossoms and autumn leaves. If your certificate does not carry a date, say that it can be used in any season, and encourage the recipient to book early for popular weekends.
