Seasonal Work and Short Contracts Still Count
Temporary employees are easy to overlook in paperwork. They arrive for a season, a busy quarter or a maternity cover, and leave when the need ends. Yet the work is real, and the person will need proof of it for a new agency, a benefits office or a landlord. This template gives employers and staffing agencies a clean, factual letter for temporary workers, with all the key details in one list.
Building Logo, Bold Title and Black Band
The page is Letter size portrait, 8.5 x 11 inches. At the top left, a black square holds a white line drawing of an office building above the word COMPANY and a small logo line. Beside it, the company name appears in heavy black capitals, with a thick black rule running across the page below. The title is set in a very bold, high contrast serif, Abril Fatface: Certificate Of Employment for Temporary Employees. A heavy black band closes the bottom of the page.
The body starts with a Date line, then says that [Employee’s Full Name], [Nationality], has been employed at [Company Name] as a temporary employee. A bulleted list follows: Position, Department, Employment Duration (From [Start Date] to [End Date]), Employment Type (Temporary, full-time or part-time), Work Hours and Salary. A paragraph says the person has fulfilled duties and responsibilities effectively and that the services have been of value to the company. The closing says the certificate is issued upon request, with Sincerely and a signature block.
A Spelling Correction
The heading beside the logo reads COMPNAY NAME. Click it in the editor and replace it with your actual company name. This is a good moment to check the rest of the page for placeholders too.
Contract Facts to Include
| Fact | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Exact start and end dates | Shows continuity and helps with benefit claims |
| Full or part time | Explains income level |
| Hours per week | Shows the workload |
| Pay rate | Needed for loans, rental or benefit checks |
| Agency or direct hire | Clarifies who issued the letter |
If You Are a Staffing Agency
Agencies often issue the certificate because they are the legal employer, even if the person worked at a client site. In that case, put the agency’s name at the top and mention the client in the position line, for example “Warehouse Operative, assigned to Northgate Distribution.” Keep a record so you can answer later requests for the same worker.
When the Contract Is Extended
If a temporary contract is renewed, give the full period from the first start date to the final end date, or list each period separately. Clear periods help with calculations such as holiday pay or unemployment benefits, which may depend on continuous work.
Printing the Black Header and Footer
The black header and footer use some ink, so use the Draft or Economy mode for routine copies if your printer supports it. Sign in ink. Keep a scanned copy in the personnel file.
For a permanent role proof see the sales personnel certificate. For project work, see the project-based employees certificate. More are in employment certificates.
