The moment the judges announce the winners is the high point of any rangoli competition. A certificate turns that moment into something the winner can take home, frame, and show to grandparents. This landscape certificate is made for Diwali rangoli contests in schools, housing societies, temples, community associations, and offices, with room for the winner’s name, place, category, and a line about the winning design.

Filling In the Winner Details
- Click the name Ananya Deshpande and type the winner’s name. Great Vibes is a wide script, so very long names may need the font size reduced a little.
- Change FIRST PLACE, TEENS CATEGORY to the place and category, for example SECOND PLACE, KIDS CATEGORY or WINNER, TEAM CATEGORY.
- Rewrite the citation to describe the design: the motif, materials, and something the judges admired.
- Update the seal text from 1ST to 2ND or 3RD.
- Type the judge’s and organiser’s names in the script lines, or delete the script names and sign printed copies by hand.
Describing the Winning Rangoli in the Citation
The two-line citation is what makes each certificate unique. Rather than a generic excellent work, describe the actual rangoli. The sample reads: a beautiful peacock rangoli made of colour powder, flowers, and diyas. Other examples:
- For a lotus rangoli in eight shades of pink, finished with marigold petals.
- For a bold geometric design that balanced colour and symmetry perfectly.
- For a team rangoli of the Ramayana story, told in five panels around a central diya.
- For the most creative use of recycled and eco-friendly materials.
Children especially love seeing their own design described in words.
Making a Set for All Winners
Most competitions have several categories and three places in each. Create the first certificate, download it, then change the name, place, category, citation, and seal for the next winner. Keeping the title, frame, and signatures the same makes the set look consistent. For participation certificates, change CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT to CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION, change for winning to for taking part, delete the place line and the seal text, and give one to every child.
Recolouring the Seal
The rosette is a group of shapes: a gold starburst, a maroon centre with a gold ring, two ribbon tails, and the text. For second place, change the gold starburst to silver grey; for third place, to a bronze brown. Select the group and change the colours of its parts. The corner rangolis are editable vector art and can be recoloured from their swatches if you want them to match your organisation’s colours.
Printing Certificates
Download the certificate as a PDF and print it at actual size in landscape on US Letter card stock or certificate paper. A heavier paper of 200 to 250 gsm feels special and survives being carried home. The ivory background prints well on white or cream paper; on cream parchment paper you may want to change the background to white so it blends. For A4 regions, print with fit to page, which leaves narrow margins around the frame.
Present certificates in a simple folder or with a ribbon tied around a rolled certificate. For first place winners, a frame turns the certificate into a lasting keepsake.
Signing the Certificates
Two signature lines are labelled HEAD JUDGE and EVENT ORGANISER. The script names above them are placeholders that look like signatures. For an official feel, delete the script names before printing and have the judge and organiser sign each certificate in ink. A small community stamp or seal next to the signatures adds authenticity.
When to Present Them
Certificates are best handed out at the event, right after the results are announced and the winning rangolis are photographed. If judging takes time, organisers often present them at the evening programme on Diwali eve or at the next community gathering. In 2026, Diwali falls on Sunday, 8 November.
Using the Certificate for Other Diwali Contests
Change Diwali Rangoli Competition 2026 to another contest name: Best Diya Decoration, Diwali Lantern Making, Festive Dress Competition, Diwali Cooking Contest, or Kids Drawing Competition. The corner rangolis keep the festive feel for any of them.
Certificate Questions
Can I add a logo?
Add a shape from the Elements panel above the title and use Replace Image to place your school or society logo.
Can I add a photo of the winning rangoli?
The layout is designed without a photo, but a small square photo frame can replace the seal if you prefer.
Is it suitable for adults too?
Yes. The design is elegant rather than childish, which suits adult and team categories.
Planning the Award Ceremony
A few minutes of planning makes the presentation feel special. Prepare certificates in the order you will announce them, usually from third place to first in each category, and keep them in a folder so they do not crease. Ask the head judge to say one sentence about each winning design as the certificate is handed over, and photograph each winner holding their certificate in front of their rangoli. These photos make wonderful posts for your community page after the festival.
Keep a digital copy of every certificate you issue, named with the winner and category, so you can reprint one if a family asks later or reuse the wording next year.
Celebrate Every Creative Hand
Type each winner’s name, describe their rangoli, and sign the certificates. It takes a few minutes and gives every winner a lasting reminder of their colourful Diwali morning.
