A Heart Shaped Frame for a Loved One
The heart is one of the oldest symbols of love, and it is the first thing you see on this card. A black and white portrait of a woman with a short fringe is cropped into a heart, surrounded by dark red poinsettias and fresh green leaves. It is a tender design that suits a mother, a grandmother, a sister, or anyone whose family wants a symbol of affection on the card.
Cream Page, Red Poinsettias, Heart Portrait
The card is 650 x 800 pixels in portrait. The background is cream, with very faint red and gold poinsettia shapes in the top corners. At the top, the title is built from two fonts: Remembering a Life with in a thin black script, and then a huge red word Love in a rounded bold typeface. In the centre sits the heart shaped photograph, with a vine of green leaves and two red poinsettia flowers growing from its sides.
Below the heart, In Loving Memory of is written in script, with Sophia Williams in bold red. The dates sit in a dark green bar: (August 12, 1975 to April 2, 2026) in the sample. The message reads: With heartfelt sorrow, we remember and honor the beautiful life of Sophia. Her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit touched the lives of so many, leaving behind memories that will forever be cherished. A bold closing line says: Forever remembered, forever missed, forever loved. The fonts are Ubuntu, Righteous and Alex Brush.
A Note on the Poinsettias
Poinsettias are strongly linked with Christmas in many countries. If the person died near the holidays, the flower may feel special. If not, it may feel unexpected. If you want a more neutral card, choose a design with roses or lilies. The flowers are part of the artwork, so they cannot be edited out.
Adapting the Message for a Man
The default message uses the name Sophia and the pronoun “her,” so for a man or for a different relationship, retype the sentences. Here is a version for a father: “With heartfelt sorrow, we remember and honor the life of Robert. His humour, patience and gentle spirit touched so many, leaving behind memories we will always cherish.” The bold closing line works for anyone.
Photo Tips for the Heart Frame
A heart frame has two lobes at the top and a point at the bottom. The face should sit in the upper middle, with the chin above the point. Choose a photograph with space around the head, and avoid very wide group photos. Click the picture, choose Replace Image and check the result on screen.
| Photo type | Result in a heart frame |
|---|---|
| Close portrait | Very good, face fills the lobes |
| Head and shoulders | Good, with some background |
| Full body | Poor, face becomes too small |
| Two people | Possible if close together |
Where This Card Is Often Used
A heart shaped photo card is popular for memorial pages, funeral notices posted by families and sympathy cards sent to grieving friends. It is also used on anniversaries of a person’s death, as a gentle reminder to the family that the person is remembered. For an anniversary, you can add a line such as “Remembering you today.”
Sharing and Printing
Save as PNG or JPG for the best result on screen. If you want a printed copy, print at a small size on matte paper. Keep the file with the family records, in case a copy is needed again.
