Fix This Before You Share: Two Names, One Card
This card has a small inconsistency in its sample text that is easy to miss and important to correct. The large name under the photograph reads David Johnson, with dates in 1958 and 2026, but the message beneath it says: May peace find its way to your heart, and may loving memories of Sarah Johnson bring you comfort and healing. The names do not match. That is only placeholder text, but if you leave it, the card will name two different people. Retype both so that the name in the heading and the name in the message are the same, and check the dates against a reliable source.
Maroon, Gold Frame and a Black Ribbon
The card is 650 x 800 pixels in portrait. The background is a deep maroon, framed by a double gold line with notched corners, like an old certificate. Across the top, a thick black satin ribbon forms a loop and sweeps across the page from left to right. Beneath it, the words WE ARE DEEPLY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS curve upward in white capitals over the top of an arch shaped black and white portrait of a white haired man with clasped hands, seated in a dim room.
Below the portrait, the name David Johnson is written in gold, with the dates in white brackets. The message follows in white, and the signature, Daniel Roberts, in gold. The font is Rubik.
A Card That Speaks to the Family
The arched heading is a message to the reader: We Are Deeply Sorry For Your Loss. That makes it suitable for friends and colleagues sending condolences. A family notice would normally say something different, for example “We have lost a beloved father.” If you are the family, edit the curved line. It is text, so you can change it, though you may need to adjust the size to keep the curve tidy.
How to Edit the Curved Text
Click the curved line and retype it. Short phrases work best: “In Loving Memory,” “Forever in Our Hearts,” or “With Deepest Sympathy.” A long sentence will spill outside the arch. If the curve looks uneven after you type, reduce the font size by a point or two.
Photograph and Arch
The arched photograph is cropped at the top. Choose a picture with some space above the head and a central face. Click the image and choose Replace Image. Because the background of the sample picture is dark, a photograph with a plain or darker background will blend well with the maroon.
Wording Suggestions for the Message
- May peace find its way to your heart, and may loving memories of David bring you comfort and healing.
- Thinking of you and your family at this sad time.
- David was a kind man, and we will miss him.
Respect on a Public Page
If you plan to post the card publicly, ask the family first. Some people prefer to share their loss privately, and some prefer to announce it. A good approach is to send the card to the family in private and let them decide whether to post it.
Download and Print
Download as PNG for sharing. The deep maroon and gold look rich on screen. For a printed keepsake, print at a small size on matte card stock, and consider a cream envelope.
