Every private chef knows that a meal starts long before the first plate lands. It starts with the menu proposal, the questions about allergies, the confirmation of the date and the number of guests. This Private Chef Letterhead Template makes those first impressions as inviting as the food, with a striped bistro awning across the top of the page, a round frame for your signature dish, and a clean page for menus and letters.

The Awning Over Your Kitchen

Think of the striped canopies over a neighborhood bistro or a market café: they signal that something good is happening inside. At the top of this page, deep olive and warm cream stripes run the full width and finish in a row of scallops, like fabric hanging from a canopy frame. The effect is cheerful and unmistakably culinary, without a single chef’s hat or crossed utensil in sight.

Beneath the awning, your name is set in Playfair Display, a serif with the elegance of a restaurant menu, with Private Chef & Catering in terracotta capitals and your email and phone below. On the right, a round photo slot with an olive border shows off a plated dish or your own portrait. A thin olive rule with a short terracotta accent closes the header. At the foot, a narrow band of the same stripes runs along the bottom edge, under your web address and the Office Templates Online logo.

What to Put on the Page

The body is blank, and that makes it versatile. Some of the most useful documents a private chef sends:

  • Menu proposals for dinner parties, anniversaries and holiday meals, set out course by course.
  • Tasting menus printed for guests to keep at the table.
  • Catering quotes with per-head pricing, staffing and service style.
  • Dietary questionnaires covering allergies, intolerances and preferences.
  • Weekly meal-prep plans for regular clients.
  • Booking confirmations with arrival time, kitchen needs and payment terms.
  • Thank-you notes left on the counter once the kitchen is spotless.

Laying out a printed menu

For a table menu, center the text in the blank area: the occasion and date at the top, then each course with a short, appetizing description, and a small note about dietary options at the bottom. Leave generous space between courses. A serif for dish names and a lighter sans-serif for descriptions echoes the header nicely, and three to five courses fit comfortably on the page.

Plating Your Photo

The round frame is where the page gets its appetite. A few tips for the image:

  • Shoot from directly above or at a low angle, with the plate filling most of the frame; the circle crops the corners.
  • Use daylight from a window rather than flash, and avoid busy backgrounds.
  • Pick a dish with color contrast, such as greens against a white plate; it reads well at small size.
  • If you are the brand, a friendly portrait in your chef’s whites works just as well.

Customizing, Course by Course

Starter: your details

Click the name and replace Marco Bellini with your own. Edit the title line to your specialty, such as Private Chef & Pastry or Plant-Based Private Chef, then update the email, phone and web address.

Main: your photo

Click the round frame, choose Replace Image, and upload your dish or portrait. The frame keeps its size and crops the picture to fit.

Dessert: your colors

The awning is a single group. To match your own brand, click Ungroup and recolor the stripes and scallops from the toolbar; keep one dark and one light color so the scallops stay visible against the page. Then download your letterhead as a PDF, PNG, or JPG.

A Menu Proposal That Sells the Evening

A menu proposal is part menu, part invitation. Clients are imagining the evening as they read it, so give them something to imagine. Open with a sentence that sets the scene: For your anniversary dinner, I have built a menu around the late-summer produce you mentioned.  Then list two or three options for each course, each with a one-line description that mentions a technique or an ingredient’s origin. Finish with the practical notes, such as the number of guests, service style, what you will bring, what you need from their kitchen, and the price per head, and a clear deadline for choosing. Keep it to one page so it can sit on the fridge while they decide.

Printing Menus Guests Will Keep

The page is US Letter (8.5 x 11 in), portrait. Print the PDF at 100% scale. For menus and notes guests may take home, choose a heavier, uncoated paper in cream or natural white, around 32 lb (120 gsm) or a light card; it feels like a restaurant menu and stands up on the table. The awning runs to the top edge, so a standard printer will leave a thin white strip above it; ask a print shop for full-bleed printing if you want the stripes to reach the very edge. For quotes and questionnaires sent by email, the PDF is ideal.

FAQ’s

Can I use it for a catering company rather than just myself?

Yes. Replace the name with your company name and use the title line for your services.

Can I print a separate menu for each guest?

Yes. Type the menu in the blank area once, then print as many copies as you need. You can even add each guest’s name above the first course.

Can I remove the stripes at the bottom?

Yes. The bottom band is a separate group; click it and delete it.

Does it suit bakers, caterers or cooking instructors?

Yes. Change the title line to Custom Cakes, Event Catering, or Cooking Classes, and use a photo of your best bake or a class in action.

Can I use a logo in the circle?

Yes. Swap the image for your logo; a logo on a white or light background looks best in the frame.

Great meals deserve great first impressions. Add your signature dish, fill in your details, and download your private chef letterhead.
