Couples buy for each other, and they also get asked, again and again, What does he want? Or what would she like? by parents, siblings, and friends. A couple’s wish list answers both questions at once. Each of you gets your own column; there is a spot for something you would love to share, and a photo of the two of you makes it feel like a little Christmas card. Send it to family, or keep it between yourselves as a gentle hint.

Two Columns, One Wreath

The template is US Letter landscape, 11 x 8.5 inches. The page is split into three: a soft sage-green panel on the left, a blush-pink panel on the right, and a warm cream column in the middle. At the top of each side panel, a name is written in the flowing Great Vibes script (Emma’s in green on the left, Liam’s in red on the right) above the words Wish List in spaced capitals. Each side has ten numbered lines and a Sizes line at the bottom.

In the centre, a sprig of mistletoe with white berries and a red ribbon hangs on a thread from the top of the page. Just below it, a round photo of the two of you sits inside a wreath of holly leaves and red berries. Under the photo, Our Christmas Wish Lists is set in Cormorant Garamond, and a white card with a gold border and a small red heart holds Our Shared Wish. Christmas 2026 finishes the column. A deep green footer band decorated with holly sprigs and berries runs across the page, with our logo in soft gold at its centre.

Conversation Starters for Your Lists

Filling in a couples list together can be fun, and it often reveals things you didn’t know. Try these prompts while you write:

  • What is something you use every day that is wearing out?
  • What have you looked at online more than twice this year?
  • What would make your mornings, or your weekends, better?
  • Which experience would you love to try, but never book for yourself?
  • What small luxury would you never buy for yourself?
  • Is there a hobby you would pick up again with the right kit?

Ideas for “Our Shared Wish”

The shared wish is the heart of the page: something the two of you would enjoy together. It can be a single gift from one family member, or something several relatives chip in for. Some ideas:

TypeShared wish ideas
GetawaysA weekend in the mountains, a cabin stay, a night in a city hotel
HomeA new mattress, a coffee machine, a record player, houseplants
ExperiencesA cooking class, concert tickets, a wine tasting, a spa day for two
HobbiesHiking gear, a board game collection, bikes, a camera
PlansContributions to a honeymoon, house or travel fund

The sample couple shares a wish for a weekend in the mountains, with individual wishes ranging from a silk pillowcase and a pottery class for two to trail running shoes and a leather weekender bag.

Personalising the Page

  1. Names: click each script heading and type your names. The template is not limited to his and hers; use any two names, or Mine and Yours.
  2. Photo: click the round photo inside the wreath and choose Replace Image. A close, smiling photo works best in the circle; the wreath stays in place around it.
  3. Wishes: click a numbered line to type. The handwriting-style font keeps the list personal. Leave spare lines for later additions.
  4. Sizes: fill in the sizes line on each side, such as sweater, shoe, and ring sizes. Relatives will thank you.
  5. Colours: swap the sage and blush panels for other soft colours, or change the heading colours. The mistletoe and the wreath are grouped drawings you can move or recolour.

When to Share It, and With Whom

Couples use this page in different ways. Some send it to both families early in December, so everyone knows what to buy and who is getting which gift. Some keep it private as a fun way to swap hints with each other. Newlyweds and engaged couples often find it useful for their first Christmas as a pair, when relatives are unsure whether to buy joint or separate gifts; the shared wish answers that neatly. Download a PNG to share by message, or print copies to slip into Christmas cards.

Printing in Landscape

Choose landscape orientation and US Letter at actual size, or fit to A4. The pale panels print lightly, so the page is economical, and the photo looks best on a colour printer with good quality paper. If you frame a copy as a keepsake of your Christmas together, a 200 to 250 gsm matte card is a nice choice.

Keepsake Idea: A Yearly Tradition

Some couples fill in a new page every December and keep the old ones in a folder. Looking back at past lists, and at how the photo in the wreath changes over the years, becomes a small tradition of its own. Add the year to the bottom of the centre column so each page is easy to date.

A Little Gift Etiquette for Couples

Joint lists can raise small questions with relatives. Should they buy one gift for the two of you or two separate gifts? Should the gifts be similar in value? A couples list makes this easy to answer in your message: A joint gift from the shared wish box is perfect, or anything from either list. If one of you has a much longer list than the other, even it out with a few small ideas, so both sides get attention. And if a relative has a tight budget, point them to the smaller wishes rather than the shared one. Keep a note of who gives what, so writing thank-you messages together after Christmas is quick, and nobody is forgotten.

Between the two of you, the list can also prevent the classic Christmas morning moment of buying each other the same thing.

Couples List Questions

Can we use it for a family of two parents and a baby?

You can, but our Baby’s First Christmas list is designed for a little one’s wishes.

Can I remove the photo?
