Choosing childcare is one of the biggest decisions young families make, and many find a daycare simply by word of mouth or by noticing one nearby. A door hanger on the streets around your centre puts you in front of exactly the right parents. This design is bright and gentle at once, with a sunny sky, a large photo window for your play space and a fence of colourful crayons along the bottom, like a picket fence drawn by a child.
Sky, Sun and a Crayon Picket Fence
The front of this 4.25 x 11 inch hanger is pale sky blue, with a yellow sun peeking in from the right edge, its rays fanning out. Under the hole, LITTLE ACORNS DAYCARE appears in spaced orange capitals, followed by Now enrolling in navy and ages 1 to 5 in orange, both in rounded, friendly Baloo 2. A short paragraph mentions play-based learning, home-cooked snacks, and a garden to explore, two streets away.
A large rounded photo window with a thick white border fills the middle, ready for a photo of your classroom or garden. Three white chips beneath it show 7 am – 6 pm open hours, a 1: 4 staff ratio, and Free tour & trial day, followed by Book a visit: (555) 228-7676. Along the bottom, a row of crayons in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, and turquoise stands upright with sharpened tips, forming a fence above a navy strip with the website and Licensed childcare.
Show Your Real Rooms
The photo window is a photo slot. Select it and choose Replace Image to add a bright photo of your playroom, reading corner, or garden. Parents want to see where their child will spend the day; a real, tidy, sunlit space builds trust instantly. Avoid photos showing children’s faces unless you have written permission from their parents.
Our Daily Rhythm, on the Back
The back is a warm cream with a sky-blue top. Our daily rhythm introduces a real table that answers the question every parent asks: What will my child actually do all day?:
Can you please fix this table? Don’t change anything.
| Time | Activity |
|---|---|
| 7:00 | Drop-off and free play |
| 9:00 | Circle time, songs and stories |
| 10:00 | Garden, sandpit and bikes |
| 11:30 | Lunch made in our kitchen |
| 12:30 | Nap and quiet time |
| 3:00 | Art, building and music |
| 5:00 | Story corner and pick-up |
An italic note reminds parents to bring spare clothes, a comfort toy, and a water bottle. The director’s round photo slot sits beside Ms. Ana Torres, Director, and the phone number. A smaller crayon fence echoes the front along the bottom.
Editing the Schedule
Select the table and choose Edit Table Data to enter your own times and activities. Add a Row for snack time, forest school, or music lessons. If you run separate rooms for toddlers and preschoolers, add a third column for each age group.
Introducing the Director
The small round slot on the back is for the director or lead teacher. Use Replace Image with a warm, simple headshot and update the name and title. Parents often choose a daycare because they liked the person in charge, so this small detail carries weight.
What Parents Look for First
- Licensing and inspection status.
- Staff-to-child ratios and staff qualifications.
- Opening hours that match working days.
- Outdoor space and daily outdoor time.
- Food: who cooks it and how allergies are handled.
- How parents hear about their child’s day.
The front chips answer three of these at a glance; use the back for the others.
Choosing the Front Chips
Each chip is a rounded shape with two lines of text. If your strongest selling point is something else, change it: Organic meals, Bilingual,Forest school, or Open Saturdays. Keep the text short so it fits the chip.
Recolouring Crayons and Sky
The crayon fence is one group. Use its colour swatches to make it softer pastels or your brand palette. The sun and its rays are a group too. The sky colour is the page background; a pale mint or soft peach also works well for early years settings.
When to Drop Enrolment Hangers
Families often secure childcare months in advance, especially for babies. Spring is the main enrolment season for an autumn start, but new families move in all year. Drop hangers in new housing developments and near maternity units, parks and libraries, as well as on streets around your centre.
Open Days and Trial Days
An open day or free trial morning lowers the barrier for nervous parents. If you hold one, change Book a visit to the date, such as Open day: Saturday, March 8, 10 am – 1 pm, and make it the main call to action.
Printing Child-Friendly Colours
The crayons need bright, saturated colours to look right. Download as a PDF and print on coated card through a professional printer if possible. If you print at home, choose the highest quality setting; dull crayons lose the cheerful feel.
Cutting Out the Hanger
The dashed circle near the top marks the handle hole and the dashed slit runs to the edge. On the back page, the slit is mirrored, so the two sides match when printed together.
For Preschools, Nurseries and Childminders
The layout suits nursery schools, playgroups, home childminders and kindergarten registration. Change daycare to your setting type, adjust the ages and update the schedule; the crayon fence works for any early years setting.
Settling-In Sessions
For many children, and many parents, the first week is the hardest. Describe your settling-in approach on the back, such as short visits with a parent, then longer stays over a week or two. Families who see that you have a gentle plan feel far more confident about booking a tour.
