IT’S ALIVE! This Frankenstein Halloween gift voucher doesn’t just show the monster, it is the monster. The whole voucher is his famous green face: jagged black hair across the top, metal bolts sticking out of both sides, a stitched scar on the forehead, and a big lightning-bolt value badge that looks like it could power the lab. It’s bold, funny and impossible to ignore on a counter or in an inbox.

Anatomy of the Monster Voucher

Everything about the layout is built around the classic creature:

  • The skin: the background is a soft monster green with a slightly darker band along the bottom, like the shadow under his chin.
  • The hair: a solid black band runs across the top edge, finished with a jagged, zig-zag fringe.
  • The bolts: grey metal bolts poke out of the left and right edges, right where the neck would be.
  • The scar: a line of cross-stitches sits on the forehead on the left.
  • The power supply: a black rounded badge with a glowing yellow lightning bolt holds the value.

The headline “GIFT VOUCHER” is set in Bungee, a chunky, signage-style typeface, under the kicker “IT’S ALIVE!”, with the line “a monstrously good treat for someone special” below.

What Customers Fill In

Below the headline are three write-on lines: To, From and Valid Until. Along the bottom are the voucher number (HW-1201 in the sample), the standard terms “Valid for one use only · Not redeemable for cash”, and your business name and website. The Office Templates Online mark sits in dark green at the bottom right.

The voucher is 8 x 3.5 inches, landscape: the same shape as a typical printed gift voucher or rack card, which fits neatly into a #10 envelope.

Bring Your Voucher to Life in Five Steps

  1. Charge it up: click “$75” in the lightning badge and type your value.
  2. Name the creator: replace “Your Business Name” and the website at the bottom.
  3. Number it: change the voucher number for each copy you issue.
  4. Set the rules: edit the terms line if you need something different, such as “Valid Mon–Thu only”.
  5. Release it: download a print-ready PDF, or a PNG or JPG for email and social media.

Businesses That Suit a Monster

BusinessVoucher idea
Escape room“One lab escape for up to 4 monsters”
Arcade or bowling alley“$25 in game credits”
Comic or game shop“$20 to spend on anything in store”
Barber“One Halloween haircut (bolts not included)”
Science museum or makerspace“One family workshop pass”
Restaurant or burger bar“A monster meal for two”

Write the offer in place of “a monstrously good treat for someone special”, or put it in the value badge instead of an amount.

Tips for a Monster Hit

  • Keep the green. Frankenstein’s creature is instantly recognizable in this color, and it stands out on a counter full of orange and black Halloween promotions.
  • Use it as a prize. Kids’ costume contests, social media giveaways and trivia nights love a voucher with a sense of humor.
  • Pair it with a monster-themed product, like a green milkshake or a “bolt” burger, and name the voucher after it.
  • Print a batch in advance, number them in sequence and keep a simple list so staff can check each one off when it’s used.

Captions for Your Social Posts

A monster this recognizable is made for social media. Post the voucher image with one of these captions, or use them as inspiration:

  • “IT’S ALIVE! Our Halloween gift vouchers are here, bolts and all.”
  • “Looking for a gift with a little more… personality? Pick up a monster voucher in store.”
  • “Stitch together the perfect Halloween present. Vouchers from $25.”
  • “Warning: may cause uncontrollable excitement. Halloween vouchers now available.”
  • “Every mad scientist needs a treat. Tag the one in your life.”

Pair the post with a short video of a staff member holding the voucher up to their neck like bolts; small, silly moments like that tend to get shared.

Keeping Track of Every Voucher

The voucher number printed at the bottom isn’t just decoration. Give every voucher you hand out a unique number (HW-1201, HW-1202 and so on) and keep a simple list with the number, value, date sold and date redeemed. A spreadsheet or even a notebook behind the counter is enough. It stops the same voucher being used twice, shows you how many Halloween vouchers you sold, and tells you how many are still out there when you plan next year’s promotion. When a voucher is redeemed, write “used” and the date on the back before filing it.

Paper and Printing

Print at 100% scale on a sturdy card stock (around 100 lb cover) so the voucher feels substantial in the hand. A matte finish suits the flat, graphic colors and is easy to write on with a ballpoint. Most home printers can’t print to the very edge, so trim a hair inside the edge after printing, or ask a print shop to print full bleed and cut. A print shop can fit three vouchers on one US Letter sheet, which keeps the cost per voucher low.

Frankenstein Voucher Questions

Can I make the monster a different color?

Yes. Click the background and choose any color. A grey-blue or pale purple gives the classic creature a new twist, while the black hair and bolts stay the same.

Is the hair one piece?

Yes, the jagged hair is a single shape, so you can recolor, resize or move it in one step.

Can I use a value instead of a product?

Either works. Type an amount such as “$75” in the badge, or a product such as “1 Game” if the text still fits comfortably.

Is this suitable for kids?

Absolutely. It’s more funny than frightening, so it works for family businesses and children’s events.

Some gift vouchers sit forgotten in a drawer. This one has bolts in its neck. Add your details, flip the switch and watch your Halloween promotion come alive.
