Short Lines for People Who Prefer Few Words
Some people find long condolence messages difficult to read or to write. A short message can be more moving. This card keeps its words to a minimum. It says Forever Remembered, shows a name, and offers two quiet sentences: May their memory live on in love and peace. Wishing you comfort and strength in the days ahead. It is a good fit for grief that is too fresh for many words, and for senders who are not close to the family but want to show care.
A Look at the Arched Panel
The card is 600 x 800 pixels in portrait. The background is white with a pale geometric tile pattern. In the middle stands a tall charcoal panel with a rounded arch top, like a doorway or a headstone. At the top of the arch, a round photograph of a young man in a dark coat and grey sweater, with a white ring around it, overlaps the edge. A bouquet of roses, wildflowers and leaves in muted pink, cream and burgundy spills across the left side of the arch, and a second, smaller bouquet leans on the right side.
Inside the arch, Forever Remembered is written in a small gold line. Under it, Person’s Name is written in a loose white handwriting font, followed by the message in white and a gold sign off, With sympathy, and [Your Name], with a small curl of line drawing at the bottom. The fonts are Raleway and Zeyada.
Replacing the Placeholders
- Replace Person’s Name with the name of the person who has died.
- Replace [Your Name] with your own name or your group.
- Click the round photograph and choose Replace Image to add the person’s picture.
The handwriting font for the name is quite loose, so type the name and check that it is easy to read. If the name is long, reduce the size a little, so it stays inside the arch.
Who Might Send This Card
- Colleagues of a team member who lost a family member.
- Friends who live far away and want to send something in the first days.
- A school or club that wants to show support for a student’s family.
- Neighbours who did not know the person well but want to be kind.
Photograph Tips for a Round Frame
A round frame crops the corners of a picture, so place the face in the middle and leave a little space around it. Photographs of people looking at the camera work best. If you do not have a portrait, you can use a picture of a flower, or the logo of your group, though a face makes the card more personal.
Gold on Charcoal
The gold lettering is small, so test how it looks on a phone. If it is hard to read, enlarge the font a little in the editor or change the colour to a lighter cream. The white name line is easier to read than the gold one, so keep the name white.
Adding a Personal Line
If you knew the person, you can add one short sentence in the space below the message: “I will always remember her kindness.” Do not add a long paragraph. The simplicity is the strength of this design.
