Every January, HR teams, office managers, and business owners publish the list of holidays when the office will be closed in the coming year. Employees use it to plan vacations, and customers use it to know when to expect slower responses. This US Letter template presents the full 2027 schedule in one clear table. A navy header holds a logo frame, a white calendar icon, the title 2027 Holiday Schedule in Playfair Display, and the line OUR OFFICE IS CLOSED ON THESE DAYS. Below, a striped table lists thirteen holidays with dates and weekdays, from New Year’s Day to the observed New Year’s Day 2028 on December 31, 2027. A note explains how weekend holidays are observed, and a red rule leads to the HR contact line.
The 2027 US Federal Holiday Calendar
The table follows the US federal holiday calendar for 2027: New Year’s Day on Friday, January 1; Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 18; Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 15; Memorial Day on Monday, May 31; Juneteenth observed on Friday, June 18; Independence Day observed on Monday, July 5; Labor Day on Monday, September 6; Columbus Day or Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Monday, October 11; Veterans Day on Thursday, November 11; Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 25; Christmas Day observed on Friday, December 24; and New Year’s Day 2028 observed on Friday, December 31.
Observed Holidays Explained
When a holiday falls on a Saturday, it is usually observed on the Friday before. When it falls on a Sunday, it is observed on the Monday after. In 2027, Juneteenth (June 19) and Christmas Day (December 25) fall on Saturdays, so the office closes on the Fridays before. Independence Day falls on a Sunday, so the office closes on Monday, July 5. New Year’s Day 2028 falls on a Saturday, so it is observed on Friday, December 31, 2027. The note under the table explains this rule for employees.
Adding Company Specific Holidays
Many companies add extra days, such as the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, a floating holiday, or a company anniversary. The sample includes the day after Thanksgiving. Double-click the table to add or remove rows. If your company does not observe Columbus Day or Veterans Day, delete those rows.
Editing the Holiday Schedule Table
The table has three columns: Holiday, Date, and Day. Click into any cell to edit it, or choose Edit Table Data to update several cells at once. Keep the weekday column, because employees often want to know which holidays create long weekends.
Branding the 2027 Holiday Schedule
Click the logo frame in the header and choose Replace Image to upload your company logo. The calendar icon on the right can be recoloured or removed. Update the HR contact line with your phone number and email address.
Sharing the Holiday Schedule With Employees
Post the schedule in break rooms, on the staff intranet and in the employee handbook. Send it as a PDF in the first week of January, and add the dates to shared calendars. Employees appreciate knowing the full year’s holidays early so they can plan trips and family events.
Sharing the Schedule With Clients
Client-facing businesses, such as agencies, law firms and accountants, can share a version of the schedule with clients. Remove internal notes and add a line about how urgent matters are handled during closures. Clients will appreciate planning around your holidays.
Holiday Schedules for Schools and Nonprofits
Schools, nonprofits, and community organisations can adapt the table to their own calendars. Schools may add winter break, spring break, and teacher training days, while nonprofits may add volunteer events.
Printing the Holiday Schedule
Download a PDF and print on US Letter paper. The white background and navy header print well on office printers. Frame a copy for the break room or reception, where employees and visitors can see it.
Holiday Schedules for Other Countries
Businesses outside the United States can replace the holidays with their national and regional public holidays. In the UK, for example, list New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, the May bank holidays, the summer bank holiday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, with substitute days when they fall on weekends.
Paid Holiday Policies
A holiday schedule often goes hand in hand with a paid holiday policy. Make sure employees know which holidays are paid, how holiday pay works for part-time staff, and what happens if they work on a holiday. Link to the policy in the HR contact line or the employee handbook.
Updating the Schedule Each Year
Save your edited design and update it each January for the new year. Check observed dates carefully, as weekends shift every year. Keeping the same design year after year makes the schedule easy for employees to recognise.
Holiday Schedules for Shift Workers
Hospitals, factories, call centres and retailers often stay open on holidays with special shift patterns or holiday pay. Add a column for holiday pay rates or a note explaining how shifts are assigned, so shift workers understand their schedule as clearly as office staff.
Planning Business Operations Around Holidays
Holidays affect deliveries, payroll dates, banking, and customer service. Review the schedule with your finance and operations teams so payroll runs early when needed and suppliers know when you are closed.
Holiday Schedule Questions
Can I add more holidays?
Yes. Use + Row in the table to add as many as you need.
Can I remove the logo frame?
Yes. Delete it and move the title up.
Can I use it for 2028?
Yes. Update the title, dates, and weekdays for the new year.
Holiday Schedules in Employee Onboarding
New employees often ask about holidays in their first week. Include the schedule in your onboarding pack and point new starters to it during orientation, so they can plan time off from the beginning. A printed copy in the welcome folder is a small detail that makes new team members feel organised and informed.
Plan the Year With Confidence
Update the holidays, add your logo, and share the schedule with your team. A clear yearly holiday schedule helps everyone plan and keeps your business running smoothly all year.
