A printed coupon is still one of the most effective ways to bring customers back during the festival season. People keep it in a wallet or on the fridge, and the expiry date nudges them into the shop. This sheet prints three different Diwali coupons on one US Letter page, each with its own colour, illustration, offer, code, and numbered stub.
The Three Coupon Designs
Each coupon is a ticket-shaped card about 7.4 by 3 inches with rounded corners, a perforated look divider, and half-circle notches where the stub meets the main body.
- Magenta, percent off: A brass diya glows on the left. The offer reads 20% OFF your entire Diwali order with the code DIWALI20.
- Teal, gift: An orange star lantern hangs on the left. The offer reads FREE SWEET BOX with purchases over $50 and the code SWEETBOX.
- Saffron, money off: A yellow marigold sits on the left. The offer reads $10 OFF festive outfits over $60 and the code FESTIVE10.
Each stub on the right says HAPPY DIWALI in gold Cinzel, a coupon number, and the store name and website. A small line beside the code states the validity dates and the one coupon per order rule. Dashed cutting guides surround each coupon.
Writing Coupon Terms That Prevent Disputes
Most coupon problems at the counter come from unclear terms. Each coupon has room for one short line of conditions. Make sure the full set of terms is clear, either on the coupon or at the till:
- Validity dates: The sample says valid November 1 to 8, 2026, which ends on Diwali day.
- Minimum spend: State it on the offer line itself, as the free sweet box and money off coupons do.
- Exclusions: If gold, gift cards, or sale items are excluded, add it to the terms line.
- Combining offers: Say whether the coupon can be used with other promotions.
- One per order or one per customer: Choose one and print it.
Tracking Which Coupons Work
Different codes on each coupon let you see which offer customers prefer. Keep a simple log at the till or in your point of sale system. An example of what that log might show after the festival:
| Code | Offer | Coupons handed out | Redeemed | Redemption rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DIWALI20 | 20% off the order | 300 | 54 | 18% |
| SWEETBOX | Free sweet box over $50 | 300 | 39 | 13% |
| FESTIVE10 | $10 off outfits over $60 | 300 | 27 | 9% |
The numbers in this table are illustrative only; your results will depend on your customers and offers. The value of tracking is that next year you will know which kind of coupon to print more of.
Numbering the Coupons
Each stub carries a number such as DW-00101. Numbering helps you limit copies and spot photocopied coupons. If you print many sheets, change the numbers on each print run, or ask a print shop about numbering. For small runs, you can write numbers on the stubs by hand after printing.
Editing the Coupons
- Click the small capitals label above each offer, such as PERCENT OFF, and change it.
- Click the large offer text and type your own. Short offers look best in the tall Bebas Neue font.
- Change the italic description line under the offer.
- Update the code inside the dashed box.
- Edit the terms line and the store details on the stub.
- Recolour a coupon by clicking its background; the illustrations are editable vectors with their own colour swatches.
Printing and Cutting the Coupon Sheet
Download the sheet as a PDF and print at actual size on US Letter card stock of around 200 to 250 gsm, which feels substantial in the hand. Cut along the dashed guides with a paper trimmer for straight edges. If you want customers to tear off the stub, ask a print shop to add a perforation along the dividing line; otherwise, staff can cut or tear it at the till.
Ways to Hand Out Coupons
- Drop one in every shopping bag in the weeks before Diwali, for the customer’s next visit.
- Include them with online orders as a thank you.
- Share them with neighbouring businesses, such as a sweet shop handing out a clothing store’s coupon and the other way round.
- Hand them out at community melas and temple events, where allowed.
- Send a coupon image by WhatsApp to regular customers.
Diwali Coupon Questions
Can I make all three coupons the same?
Yes. Copy one coupon’s offer onto the others, or delete two coupons and enlarge the remaining one.
Can I add a barcode for scanning?
The editor’s barcode tool can create a code you place inside the stub. Keep the value short so the barcode stays wide enough to scan.
Can I use these as gift vouchers?
For a voucher with a value and recipient name, the gift certificate templates on the site are better suited.
Choosing the Right Coupon Offer
Each of the three designs suits a different goal. A percentage off coupon rewards larger baskets and is easy to understand. A gift with a minimum spend raises the average order without cutting prices on your main products. A fixed amount off a category moves specific stock, such as festive outfits before the season ends. If you can only afford one offer, choose the one that matches your biggest goal for the festival, and use the other two coupon designs for different stores or partner businesses.
Digital Coupons From the Same Sheet
You can also share a single coupon as an image. Download the sheet as a PNG, crop one coupon on your phone, and send it to regular customers on WhatsApp, asking them to show it at the till. Use a separate code for digital coupons so you can see how many customers came from messages compared with printed coupons.
Give Customers a Reason to Come Back
Set your three offers, update the codes and dates, and print a stack before the first November weekend. A coupon in a wallet is a quiet reminder of your shop all through the festival.
