Some businesses close for exactly two days at Christmas: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This landscape US Letter sign shows that, at a glance, with two tear-off calendar pages side by side, one for Thursday, December 24, with a green header, and one for Friday, December 25, with a red header. Each page carries a big serif date and a red CLOSED rubber stamp, so customers understand the message even before they read a word. A poinsettia and a pine sprig decorate the top corners, a Playfair headline explains the closure, and a green pill at the bottom announces the reopening day.

Calendar Pages That Speak for Themselves

A calendar page is one of the most recognisable symbols there is. Each page in this design has two dark rings at the top, a coloured header band with the month in spaced white capitals, a large date number in DM Serif Display, and the weekday underneath. Stacked lines under each page suggest more sheets behind it, like a real desk calendar. The CLOSED stamp sits across the lower half, tilted slightly like a hand-pressed stamp, without covering the date.

The Headline and Reopening Pill

Above the calendars, We’re closed for Christmas appears in bold green Playfair Display, with a gentle italic line underneath: so our team can celebrate with their families. That reason matters: customers are far more understanding when they know why a business is closed. At the bottom, a rounded green pill reads OPEN AGAIN SATURDAY, DECEMBER 26 AT 9 AM, giving the most important follow-up detail in a format that is impossible to miss.

Changing the Dates on the Calendar Pages

Each date, month, and weekday is editable text placed on top of the calendar shapes. Click the number to change it, then update the weekday. If you close on December 25 and 26 instead, edit both pages and the reopening pill. Keep the weekday correct for the year: in 2026, December 24 is a Thursday and December 25 is a Friday.

Recolouring the Calendar Headers

The two headers are deliberately different colours, green and red, so the pages read as two separate days. Select a page group to change its header colour, for example to your brand colours. The rings and page shadows can also be recoloured or removed. The red stamp colour can be changed by selecting the stamp outline and its text.

Editing the Closed Stamps

Each stamp is a rotated rounded rectangle outline with matching rotated text. Click the word CLOSED to change it, for example to HOLIDAY, or select both parts together to move them. If you prefer a straight stamp, set the rotation of both parts to zero. The stamps use slight transparency so they look printed rather than pasted on.

Why Landscape Works for This Sign

The landscape layout gives each calendar page room to breathe and suits wide windows, reception counters, and desks. Printed on US Letter, it fits a standard acrylic sign holder in landscape orientation. It also works well as an image in emails and on Facebook, where wide graphics fill the feed nicely.

Adding a Third Day

If you also close on Boxing Day or the weekend after Christmas, you can add a third calendar page. Select a calendar group with its text, duplicate it, and reduce the size of all three so they fit across the page. Alternatively, keep two pages and add a line under the headline listing the extra day.

Printing the Two-Day Christmas Closure Sign

Download a PDF and print on US Letter paper in landscape orientation. The cream background prints economically at home. Put a copy on the door, at the counter, and near the phone so every team member can refer customers to it. For a reception desk, a landscape acrylic holder looks professional and keeps the sign clean.

Sharing the Calendar Sign Online

Export a PNG to share on your website banner area, in your email newsletter, or on social media. Because the calendar pages are so visual, the post is easy to understand when scrolling past it quickly.

Tips for a Two-Day Christmas Closure

Let customers know about the closure early, ideally in the first week of December. Mention any services that continue, such as online ordering or an emergency phone line. Prepare a short phone greeting that matches the sign, and set an automatic email reply that repeats the dates and the reopening time.

Calendar Sign Questions

Can I change December to January?

Yes. Edit the month text on each calendar header to reuse the design for New Year closures.

Can I remove the poinsettia?

Yes. Select it and delete it, or replace it with another festive sticker.

Will it fit A4 landscape?

Yes, with fit to page in your print dialog.

A Closure Sign for Clinics, Salons and Studios

Appointment-based businesses such as clinics, salons, gyms and tutoring studios benefit from this calendar design because clients book weeks ahead. Place the sign at the front desk in early December so clients notice it while booking their next visit. Mention in your booking software and reminder messages that December 24 and 25 are unavailable, and offer extra slots on December 23 or 26 for anyone who needs to come in around the holiday.

Matching Calendar Signs for the New Year

Once Christmas has passed, you can reuse the same layout for the New Year closure. Change the dates to December 31 and January 1, swap the poinsettia for a firework or champagne sticker, and update the reopening pill to Saturday, January 2. Using matching signs for both closures gives your shop window a tidy, consistent look throughout the season and makes the changeover quick on December 26.

Keeping the Calendar Pages Readable From the Street

Window signs are often read from several metres away, so the date numbers on the calendar pages are deliberately large. Avoid shrinking them when you edit, and keep strong contrast between the stamp and the page. A quick test is to print one copy, tape it to the window and read it from the pavement before printing the rest.

Say Closed With a Smile

Update the dates, choose your colours and print the sign. Two cheerful calendar pages with bold CLOSED stamps tell customers exactly when you are away and when you will be back.
