Most printable calendars leave you to look up the holidays yourself. This one does the work for you. Every federal holiday in 2027, plus the observances Americans actually plan around (Mother’s Day, Easter, Halloween, the clock changes), is already written into the right date. Below, we go through the year month by month so you know exactly what is on each page and what to plan for.
How Each Holiday Calendar Page Looks
There are twelve pages, one per month, all US Letter landscape (11 x 8.5 inches). The header is built like a flag: a navy canton block on the left holds the month name in white Oswald capitals, 2027 · US HOLIDAYS underneath, and a small field of white stars, while seven red and white stripes run across the rest of the top edge. Below sits a large calendar with full weekday names (Sunday to Saturday) on a navy row, roomy white boxes for writing, and weekends in a pale blue-grey with red date numbers. A short italic line and the OTO logo sit at the foot, above a thin red, white and navy stripe that echoes the header.
January to March: Long Weekends and Clock Changes
January opens with New Year’s Day on Friday the 1st, which gives most people a three-day weekend straight away. Martin Luther King Jr. Day falls on Monday, January 18. February carries Groundhog Day (the 2nd), Valentine’s Day (Sunday the 14th) and Presidents’ Day on Monday the 15th, so Valentine’s weekend becomes a long one in 2027.
March is busier than it looks. Daylight saving time starts on Sunday, March 14, so the clocks go forward an hour; St. Patrick’s Day is Wednesday the 17th, and Easter Sunday arrives early, on March 28. If you are planning spring break travel around Easter, the March page shows the whole picture at once.
April to June: Family Days and the Start of Summer
April is quiet, with only Earth Day on Thursday the 22nd, which makes it a good month for appointments and projects. May has Mother’s Day on Sunday the 9th and ends with Memorial Day on Monday the 31st, the unofficial start of summer.
June packs in Flag Day (the 14th), Juneteenth, and Father’s Day. Juneteenth falls on a Saturday in 2027, so the federal holiday is observed on Friday, June 18; both dates are marked on the page. Father’s Day follows the next day, Sunday the 20th, so that weekend is worth planning early.
July to September: Independence Day and Labor Day
July 4 falls on a Sunday in 2027, so the federal holiday is observed on Monday, July 5. Both are written in, which matters if you run a business or book time off. August has no federal holidays at all, which is why it is the most popular month for vacations; the page is completely clear for your own plans. September brings Labor Day on Monday the 6th, the traditional end of summer and, for many families, the week before school routines take over.
October to December: Fall Holidays and the Festive Season
October has Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Monday the 11th (different states use different names, so both are shown) and Halloween on Sunday the 31st. November starts with the end of daylight saving time on Sunday the 7th, then Veterans Day on Thursday the 11th and Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 25.
December has a twist in 2027: Christmas Day falls on a Saturday, so the federal holiday is observed on Friday, December 24. The page marks Christmas Eve as the observed holiday, Christmas Day on the 25th, and New Year’s Eve on Friday the 31st.

Private employers set their own holiday schedules, and state holidays vary, so check your workplace or school calendar too and add anything local.
Adding Your State and Family Dates to the Holiday Pages
Each month’s grid is the editor’s Task Calendar, which is why the holiday names sit inside the dates. To add your own entries, select the calendar, open Calendar Options, and click Manage Notes/Tasks. A list of the month’s dates appears; type a note next to any date (a birthday, a school closure, a state holiday like Patriots’ Day or Cesar Chavez Day) and apply it. You can also edit or delete any of the holidays already there, for example, if your family does not mark Groundhog Day.
Changing the Week Start, Colours or Year
Calendar Options also let you start the week on Monday, change the font, and recolour the title rows, weekend shading and borders. The year can be changed too, but remember that holiday dates move every year, so the notes written for 2027 will not be correct for 2028 without editing them. The flag header is made of simple shapes and a grouped star field, so you can recolour it or replace the month text easily. Fonts are Oswald for the header and Source Sans 3 for the grid, both Google Fonts.
Who Uses a Holiday Wall Calendar
- Families planning long weekends, school breaks, and visits.
- Small businesses deciding opening hours and staff cover around holidays.
- Teachers and offices pinning one shared calendar on a wall.
- Anyone booking travel, since holiday weekends sell out and cost more.
Printing the Twelve Holiday Pages
Download the PDF and print all twelve pages on letter paper in landscape. Two holes punched at the top let you hang the set on a nail, or you can staple the pages along the top edge to make a simple flip calendar. If you want to save ink, the white cells and thin borders already keep coverage low; only the header uses solid colour.
Print it, hang it, and see every 2027 holiday coming, from New Year’s Day to New Year’s Eve.
