Fix the Template Title Spelling First
The title of this template on the website reads “Nama Card Template for Security Personnel.” Nama should be Name. If you copy the title into a document, a listing or a file name, correct it. The card design itself says what it should: a name, a role and contact details. The wording on the card is correct, and the spelling issue is only in the page title.
Yellow and Black Say “Safety”
Yellow and black is a warning colour pair used in hazard signs and safety vests, and it is instantly linked with security and caution. This card uses it in flowing swooshes: a large black wave with yellow edges on the left, and a yellow and black curve on the right. In the centre stays a white area that keeps the details easy to read. For guards, door staff, patrol officers and building security teams, the colours say what the card is for before anyone reads a word.
What Is on the Card
The card is 3.375 x 2.125 inches in landscape. A round photo placeholder sits on the left inside a white circle, partly overlapping the black wave. To its right, the name MATTHEW SCOTT is set in bold black capitals, and a yellow pill shaped tag below it reads SECURITY PERSONNEL. At the lower left, over the black area, a yellow and white logo block sits with COMPANY NAME. On the right, three small yellow circular icons show a phone, an envelope and a map pin, with lines for 1234567890, [email protected] and Main Street, City State ZIP Code 12345. DEPARTMENT NAME is printed in bold black near the bottom.
Check the Tag Contrast
The tag text is white on a yellow pill, which can be hard to read, especially in poor light. In the editor, change the tag text to black or dark charcoal so it stands out. This one edit makes the card easier to read for visitors and for supervisors who check the card at a distance.
Roles You Can Use This Card For
- Security officers and guards on a fixed site.
- Patrol staff who visit several buildings.
- Receptionists with security duties.
- Supervisors and shift managers, by changing the tag.
Retype the tag to the exact role, such as Security Officer, Site Supervisor or Control Room Operator.
Name Card or ID Card?
A name card is not an identity document. For access control, many companies use a separate ID card with a licence number and an expiry date. If you need that, look at the security guard ID card in the same collection. This design is better for introductions, contacts and customer facing roles, where the aim is to give people a way to reach the person or the company.
Photo Window for a Guard
Click the placeholder and choose Replace Image to add a portrait. A clear photograph in uniform, with a neutral background, suits the card. Some companies prefer to leave the photo off for security reasons. In that case, delete the placeholder and move the name to the left.
Printing the Bold Colours
Yellow can look pale on some printers, so print a test copy. A matte 300 gsm stock suits this card. Cut the card to 3.375 x 2.125 inches, and print eight to a letter sheet. For daily use, a laminate protects the card from wear.
For a full ID card with licence details, see the security guard ID card or badge. For a front desk role, see the receptionist name card. More are in ID cards.
