A Navy Top Panel With Script Lettering and Balloons
The upper half of this invitation is navy with a pale sunburst, bunting in the corner and a thin white frame line. Please join us for sits above 4th July in cream serif and Dinner Party in a white flourish script, with a date line, a row of stars, an Uncle Sam hat and a fireworks burst. The lower half is white with balloons and a red RSVP bar.
A 5 x 7 Invitation With Two Halves
The card is 5 x 7 inches. The navy upper half names the event and the white lower half holds the practical details, so guests learn what and when before they read where.
A Date That Needs Checking
The date line reads Saturday, July 3rd, yet the title says 4th July. This can be correct if the party is held on the weekend before, but check it, and change it to the real day. Then replace the hours, Lorem Ipsum Place, the sample address and the RSVP names.
Preparing the Dinner Invitation
- Check the date against the title.
- Set the start and end times.
- Replace the venue and address.
- Rewrite the Lorem line.
- Fill the RSVP bar.
A Dressier Tone for Dinners
The script lettering and cream serif give the card a more formal feel than a flag filled party design. It suits a seated meal, a club dinner or a family gathering with a set menu.
Celebration Begins at a Set Time
Celebration Begins at is a helpful phrase, since a dinner has a fixed start. Add a note about arriving fifteen minutes early, if you need all guests at the table together.
Space for a Menu Teaser
Below the address, a short Lorem ipsum paragraph holds the sample text. Replace it with a menu hint, a dress code or a parking note, which guests tend to appreciate more than generic wording.
Balloons That Lighten the Lower Half
The balloon cluster on the left softens the white section and stops it looking like a plain form. It also keeps the eye moving down towards the red RSVP bar, which is where you want guests to act.
Printing Navy and Cream Text
Cream text on navy is crisp in print, but small type can fill in on cheap paper. Use a smooth matte card, and check that the thin frame line does not disappear.
Seating and Guest Count
Dinner parties need exact numbers. Ask guests to reply with the number attending and any dietary needs, so you can plan the table and shopping list with fewer surprises.
Sending the Dinner Invitation
Send printed cards two weeks ahead for a seated dinner. Follow up by phone with anyone who has not replied a few days before the date.
