The Idea Behind This Voucher
Some gift cards shout. This one whispers. It uses a pale pink background, a single bright red for all the decoration, and a lot of open space. The result is a voucher that suits a bakery, a florist or a gift shop that wants a Christmas feel without a heavy look.
Designer’s Walk-Through
The voucher is 8.5 x 4 inches in landscape. The background is a blush pink with a very light snow sparkle. The headline sits at the top centre: Merry in a clean red sans-serif, and Christmas in a big, glittery red brush script. Little outline fir trees decorate the upper corners of the headline, and two small tied bows hold up the words A Gift for You underneath.
Along the bottom, a rolling band of solid red fir trees forms a snowy hill with white specks. Between the headline and the hill, five lines run across the card, in two rows. The first row holds To and From; the second holds Amount, Valid and Signature.
Working With the Fields
The grey prompts read Recipient Name, Sender Name, a dollar sign and mm/dd/yy. Replace each with real information in the editor, or print blank and handwrite. The lines run almost the full width of the card, so there is room for long names, company names or a short note.
Changing the Colours
The form text can be recoloured in the editor, for example to dark green or navy. The pink background, the red lettering and the tree band are pictures, so if you want a green or blue version you need to replace those pictures with ones you recolour in an image editor.
Tips for Print and Delivery
Pink is sensitive to printer settings, and it can look beige or purple on some machines. Print a trial copy and compare it with the screen. Use a bright white card stock around 250 to 300 gsm so the pink stays fresh. A vertical or horizontal fold is not needed because the card fits a long business envelope.
Handing It Out
This voucher is friendly enough for children yet elegant enough for a gift basket. Small businesses often tuck it into a box of handmade goods, and families use it for promises like Dinner of Your Choice.
Little Details Worth Noticing
Look closely and you will see small touches: tiny bows on the lettering, fine outline trees in the corners and the white flecks on the red forest at the bottom that look like falling snow. These details are why the card works for a gift basket or a bakery box, where it will be viewed up close. Give it a clean envelope or a transparent sleeve so that the soft pink and red stay unmarked.
The text colours can be changed, but the lettering and the forest are artwork, so recolouring them means replacing the picture.
