The Gift of Doing Something
An experience certificate promises a moment instead of a thing: a cooking class, a balloon ride, a pottery workshop, a weekend at a lodge. Because the experience can be anything, the card itself should stay open and welcoming. This template does that with warm coral waves, a calm cream background and a headline that simply says Experience.
A Look at the Design
The certificate is 3.375 x 2.125 inches in landscape, the size of a credit card. Large, organic coral shapes swell in from the top left and bottom right corners, with thin contour lines drawn inside them like a topographic map. Between them the background is a soft cream. At the top centre, a square logo mark with the words COMPANY LOGO sits above the title.
The word Experience is written in a flowing black script, and GIFT CERTIFICATE sits right beneath it in coral capitals. In the lower left, four lines in coral read TO, FROM, AMOUNT and VALID UNTIL. There is plenty of empty space on the right side of the card, which suits a handwritten note or a stamp.
Turning It Into a Specific Gift
| Activity | Replace the word Experience with | Amount line |
|---|---|---|
| Cooking class | Cooking Class | Two seats |
| Hot air balloon | Balloon Flight | $180 |
| Pottery workshop | Pottery Session | One evening |
| Wine tasting | Wine Tasting | Tasting for two |
Branding It
Replace the logo with your own by clicking it and using Replace Image, or by dropping your logo over it. Then retype COMPANY if the name is part of the mark. If you offer several kinds of experience, keep the word Experience and add the detail in the Amount line.
Smart Details to Include
- A clear expiry date, since experiences often depend on the season.
- Booking instructions in the empty right side, such as a phone number.
- Any restrictions, for example age limits or weather conditions.
Print Information
The coral and cream palette prints well on white or ivory card stock between 250 and 300 gsm. The wavy shapes bleed to the edge, so trim carefully. Eight cards fit on a letter sheet if you allow for printer margins, and the finished card slips into any small envelope.
Where the Coral Waves Come From
The flowing shapes on this card are based on a contour map, the kind used to show hills on a hiking trail. That is a quiet nod to adventure and exploration, which suits an experience gift. They also leave a large clear area in the middle, so the headline has room to breathe and handwriting does not crowd the artwork.
Ideas for Pairing the Certificate With a Small Present
An experience is hard to wrap, so a small physical item helps. A cooking class goes well with a wooden spoon, a pottery workshop with a small clay tool, a hike with a map or a flask. Tuck the certificate into the gift or tie it on with string. The recipient gets something to open and something to look forward to.
If you run the experience yourself, a printed card can also carry a short description of what to bring and where to arrive.
